Pre-Season

One other thing you can tell our style of play will be much different with no target man it's been played out from the back the whole game no long balls here which is a refreshing change.

Really nice counter, that one, that culminated in Davies buying the corner. Very good close-passing move at the back then (at Dougie's direction) the quick ball forward, where Davies was faster and stronger than his counterpart.

Alloa are League One so we won't find it that easy but that kind of move is really encouraging.

Crawford has actually added a little bit of class to proceedings since he came on. Maybe he’s just the pre season Pele.

The other trialist midfielder on the other hand might try WOSFL 4th Division newcomers "Port Glasgow FC".

Really? I think he has been non existent funny how everyone sees the game, but maybe I will never get over that loan spell. The other trailist who came in midfield also looks completely lost.

It wasn't anywhere near as bad as folk like to make out. Once he got going, he was fine.

TIME FOR CHANGE!

Wonder if Shaw or Corr have got slight knocks or just not yet up to speed strange no sign of them other in the stands. King another one.

Mullen, Ballantyne, Davies and Garrity the standouts. Style of play change will be interesting.  You can tell every time Baird gets the ball he just automatically wants to lump it up to Oakley.

Crawford looked good when he came on actually. LB was decent again. The other trialist midfielder though was again out his depth. I think Imrie thought the same going by his reaction whenever he gave the ball away.

It'll take time for us to gel going forward with all the new additions but we'll certainly be much more exciting.

Few more defenders, a couple of central midfielders and a proper #9 and we'll be looking good I think.

He had one good performance off the bench against Cove for his debut then was a Dylan Dykes level disaster in every other appearance. We'd have made the playoffs without him.

Still, even if Greg Kiltie was available it would be difficult to justify another signing in that area of the park with the number of players we have already. The logical conclusion is that Imrie's doing a favour for a mate allowing him to keep fit before he rocks up at East Kilbride and that's fine.

Regarding the left  back , 2  games and both games impressed , can see dougie offering terms to  Zac  Delaney ,   Lyall was  decent in midfield  on Saturday  but  last  night didnt  seem interested,  Cammy B  looked  so  much better than Saturday ., jury  is still out on Davies hope he comes good  but  thought  he was a bit lightweight  spent a lot of time on the ground . Lamar  looks as though best  position seems to  be on the left  , strong player. Can see Garrity  getting more  game time this season , looked good  past 2  games , Trialist midfielder  I  doubt we will see again as  very  poor  on and off the ball .

Ali Crawford looked a whole different player last night, caused some problems.

Can only really echo what's already been said, all new signings look quite handy and I've seen enough to think we should be taking on big Delaney. First half was slow and sloppy as per the usual pre-season standard but it's very clear to see how Dougie wants us to play, I'm into it.

One of the trialists on the bench is number 6 with the rest of them being in the 30s. I wonder if that’s an indication of them signing like Delaney was on Tuesday when he was number 3.

Would assume that to be a pretty valid assumption.

 But who...

Trialist at right back. You’d imagine a name would come out at some point.

Edit to add: that’s not the number 6 trialist my bad.

Could obviously be completely wrong but I’m sure I heard someone shout “Marcel” when the right back was on the ball. Possibly Marcel Lavinier? At Forest green last season, former spurs and Chelsea youth.
