2024/25 Squad and Transfers

Happy with that. He's had some poor runs of form in every season with us and ideally you'd want him to be cover first and foremost rather than a starter, but he also had the best run of his career this season playing on the right of midfield and was better at right back than the alleged right back.

He'll always need good players around him to perform in midfield rather than being someone who'll take a game by the scruff of the neck himself, but with the versatility he's added to his game and the extent of the rebuild we're looking at already, keeping an average Championship player who can cover a few positions and is still improving season on season is fine.

All of which, probably even including Hamilton, have better budgets than us..

I know it keeps getting quoted we've got the lowest budget in the league, but is there actually any evidence to support it or is it just hearsay and assumption?

Literally posting that at the exact same time Ayr announced Oakley.

Pathetic.

Question is - did they genuinely think the Broadfoot news would soften the Oakley news or were they trying to bury bad news under bad news. You decide.

Unfortunate timing that. Can only hope Dougie's words in that article point towards Broadfoot being kept on board for his off-field influence above all else.

Very best of luck to big George also following in the footsteps of Cameron Salkeld.

Happy with Blues re signing solid player at the level can play a variety of positions and has improved since Imrie has been here.

Broadfoot honestly don't get, a guy who is almost 40 and several times last year you can see he was done, if he ends up being like 3rd choice as an emergency backup then okay but we should be looking for better IMO.

Oakley away to Ayr absolutely kick I the nuts I knew it would probably happen but to lose him to fucking Ayr United is just shite.

Aye, we got Ayr to line up their announcement with ours as part of a big cover up.

Dale thinking we button-up the back.

"I am delighted to have Kirk sign on for another season. Kirk is a very experienced player who has played at the top level and that professionalism and knowledge is invaluable to the team.”

Maybe he could use his vast experience and knowledge to stop giving our opponents goals on a plate every time he sets foot on the park. Failing that his invaluable professionalism could at least stop him being a ridiculous loose cannon who gets 15 bookings in one season.

I've just found out my new finishing time at work every Saturday will be 1545 so no football for me.  Starting to look like a blessing in disguise.

Why would we need Ayr to do anything in this scenario...

In Kirk Broadfoot's 28 league games (26 starts) we kept 6 clean sheets.

In the 8 league games without Kirk Broadfoot, we kept 6 clean sheets.

May be a wind up but according to Ayr fans on pie and bovril Jack Baird is off to Falkirk and Sean McGinty is returning to us.

It's a wind up, Baird is under contract.
