They're obviously paying out silly money if they're out bidding Partick as well.

Little Ayr will follow the Inverness path to the grave.

Nothing says they 'outbid Partick'.

I understand money talks but where's the sense of self pride and maybe the willingness to pay a manager back for getting your career back on track? Appreciate that's perhaps a fickle standpoint but can't help feel disappointed in Oakley if this is the route hes chosen to go down

Footballers do not give a fuck, it’s all about the best deal. Oakley’s perfectly entitled to go for his best offer, but spare us the bullshit about how much the club means to him for getting his life back on track etc etc if you’re going to bail at the first opportunity.

That's essentially what I'm getting at

Anyone who moves on can fk right off.

Neither Oakley Crawford or muirhead are bigger than morton we've lost better players than the three them in the past and survived.

It's a bit of a kick in the balls as all three were going nowhere before arriving at cappielow but they've gone so fk them.

What bills are not being paid exactly?

I didn't say 'not being paid' - I said 'have to be paid'. Footballers have wives, kids, mortgages or rent, council tax, insurance, gas, electricity, food, clothes, cars to run, tax to pay - do you want me to go on?

Going to be a hell of a rebuilding process this. I can understand Muirhead going (5 years at the club, time for a fresh challenge etc) but Oakley having spent the last 18 months saying how much he loves Morton, Imrie, the fans etc for making him feel at home/enjoy football again, to leaving at the first opportunity leaves a bitter taste in the mouth.

To Ayr ffs.

Hopefully Dougie reposting the WTF is for the boy Dodds talking shite. Wouldn't be the first time

This would be great, but it's more likely the beginning of this summer's round of airing dirty laundry in public over not being happy with his budget, as in "wtf how have Ayr been able to blow us out the water?" when everyone knows the answer to that question.

Obviously they had the critical factor of fucktons of money to spend on players which led to a strong start to the season, but when you look at the relentless positivity that was coming out of Raith last summer and the resultant impact on their season ticket sales, with their good season then seeing a massive increase in attendances overall, you wonder what a summer of a positive tone coming out the club could do in terms of gradually nudging the season ticket numbers up. Could do without a summer of manager and board taking implicit shots at each other which will then lead to histrionics from the support about how we're doomed, Imrie is about to resign and fan ownership will inevitably fail.

Allow me to top your glass up Dunning..it appears to be half-empty.

A lot of overreacting here. If Oakley is offered a shitload more than we can offer then best of luck to him unless he's playing against us. I'm happy to hold off any opinions until something is announced by the club.

Ultimately all three of Muirhead, Crawford and Oakley may well be products of Imrie's style of management. None of them were setting the heather alight prior to coming to us (or in Muirhead's case, prior to Imrie joining the club).

Who he brings in to replace them is of course the crucial part, but none of them are irreplaceable (even by mid-table Championship standards).
