Match Preview/Thread - Morton vs Ayr United (7th March)

We've played with a decent tempo at times going forward. Blues as the deep lying midfielder - not for me though. Doesn't offer for the ball or read the game anywhere near as well as Gillespie for that role.

Great finish for the equaliser.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

A defeat could not come at a worse time. We really seem to be a confidence team so another poor run would cripple our season. Need a better second half.

Knicker-wetting drivel.

Going forward we have been fine, but the defence can't keep weans out of a close - again. The set-piece defending is as hopeless as the one we got away with on Saturday. The third goal should never under any circumstances go through Schwake at his near post. Regardless of the other causes of the goal, that's a fundamental error.

Like Saturday we just need a goal to get right back in this game, but how often can we expect our forwards to bail us out? They're not exactly Messi and Mbappe in terms of goal conversion.

The midfield is too unbalanced to manage this type of game - although at least it's the one we would actually want to have to chase a game now that we're losing.

Three appalling goals to concede. Two of them coming from set-pieces is a major concern.

Trying to accommodate both Muirhead and Oakley in the team together is not going to work. It destroys the balance of the midfield.

Muirhead and Oakley played at home to Queen's Park, in a completely different setup to tonight.

We could move back to a 4-2-3-1 on Partick very easily, by simply ditching Blues (or R Crawford - but yeah it's Blues) for Gillespie and changing the tactical instructions.

We were so much better with Gillespie on the park on Saturday. Shame Blues is undroppable

Am I mistaken or are both their fullbacks on bookings? Strange then that we took Miller off who had every chance of emptying one of them.

Peter Weatherson is the greatest player since Ritchie, and should be assigned 'chairman for life'

I'd say there was no chance of Miller emptying them, considering that he hadn't beaten a man all night.
