TRVMP
I can't even bring myself to laugh at Falkirk anymore. We're a right state and we have every chance now of being in League One with them next season (assuming they don't go on a Thistle-style late-season ROMP to the title.) Admin
Photo - Malcolm MacKenzie Morton Women travelled through to Townhead Park in Cumnock to take on Ayr United in the SWF Championship South. Gary Forbes’ side imposed themselves in the first half, keeping the ball well and creating a number of chances. Despite Morton’s positive performance, the match was goalless at the interval. The hosts defended tenaciously and gaining their reward in the 75th minute, picking up a rushed clearance from goalkeeper Megan Felgate and finishing from close range. This would prove to be the only goal of the contest as Ayr United climbed to 6th place in the table. The result leaves The Ton sitting 9th in the SWF Championship South table. On Sunday 23rd January, Gary Forbes’ side host 7th placed Hutchison Vale at Parklea. Kick off is 2pm with spectators welcome. Speaking after the game, manager Gary Forbes’ showed his disappointment at the result – “Yesterday was a tough result to take given how much of the ball we had and created some chances, we are disappointed in the manner of how we conceded our goal. We will look for reaction from the players this week as we have another crucial game on Sunday.” Morton (4-2-3-1) – Felgate (GK), Cumberbatch, Marshall, Dolan, Hope, McConnachie (C), Seagreave, Hickey (off 46’), Campbell, Darroch, Craig.
