Just One Cornetto - A Greenock Morton Podcast

Really enjoyable podcasts, these. They sound so unforced and natural, like a bunch of folks sitting in a pub having a banter about the game and putting the world to rights. It’s also great to hear knowledgeable input from a lassie, acknowledging that the days of ‘I’m awa to the game, I want square sausage for tea when a get hame’ should be a distant memory. Women are still so under-represented in football and it’s great to see a bit of forward thinking. Lovely.

One question. Why ‘Just One Cornetto?’ I searched from page 1, but couldn’t find the answer.

Just One Cornetto was sung by fans after Andy Ritchie bought an ice cream van.

Calling it square sausage is grounds for the death penalty in Inverclyde, where it's known as slice.

It's the second instalment of our 'A Moment in Time' series, where we contextualise Morton results from yesteryear. In this episode, Alan and Dean are joined by guests Gerry McGeehan and Gordon Richardson to reflect on the Scottish Cup Quarter Final replay against Motherwell at Cappielow in 1991.
