SassenachTon
Really enjoyable podcasts, these. They sound so unforced and natural, like a bunch of folks sitting in a pub having a banter about the game and putting the world to rights. It’s also great to hear knowledgeable input from a lassie, acknowledging that the days of ‘I’m awa to the game, I want square sausage for tea when a get hame’ should be a distant memory. Women are still so under-represented in football and it’s great to see a bit of forward thinking. Lovely. One question. Why ‘Just One Cornetto?’ I searched from page 1, but couldn’t find the answer. TRVMP
Just One Cornetto was sung by fans after Andy Ritchie bought an ice cream van. Calling it square sausage is grounds for the death penalty in Inverclyde, where it's known as slice.
SassenachTon
Thanks for the explanation @TRVMP. I didn’t know that it was called a ‘slice’ and I bow my head in shame. My daughter lives in South Ayrshire which is where the incorrect terminology is used. Either that - or Lorne. All the best.
