capitanus
That was the original Rangers Club badge, and there are/were similarities to the Morton badge. I'd imagine there would have been other teams with similar club crests from around that era. ETA - I quite like it, as it reminds me of the Morton badge. The original* Rangers badge identified it as a limited company back in the 19th century? Seems legit. * As opposed to anything after Rangers died in 2012. 2 The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before.. So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

I can't see any evidence that this was their original badge and all the publicity for the top just labels it an anniversary badge. I know the elements of the Morton badge are unlikely to be unique but whilst i have seen older Rangers badges with the scroll at the top and others with the shield and ball design (encased in a circle), I haven't seen one that had both elements laid out just like the Morton badge which is why it caught the eye. I'm sure i've seen a version of it somewhere over the years, cant remember where but remember thinking it was very similar to the Morton badge. Edit to add: I done a wee search and found this: I dont know the era, i suspect it may be in the early 1900s. It is possible that both club crests followed the equivalent of a template in their day, or were perhaps designed by the same person etc. Not really worth getting upset about. vikingTON
That'll come in handy to cover for this season's damp squib, or potentially a minor loss if we face postponements or other unforseen costs too. 1 The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. Yeah, he said in the video they are projecting a loss this season. Shame the minerals aren't helping. The highlighted medical costs from last season unlikely to be any better this season. TRVMP
Yeah, without Old Form cup income we're sailing close to the wind. Nonetheless this is quietly encouraging. Under the previous regime we'd have been far worse off.
vikingTON
Did the club fail to sell hospitality for last night's game, or did the service fall through given the appeal for (qualified) help early in the week? Wasn't enough of sn uptake to make it viable. No mascots either, I'd have put it out the community teams/schools etc for a couple of kids to turn up with their own kits and lead the team out on the telly. They didn't need to charge for it, just fill the gap.

AyrshireTon
Club have posted this video on YouTube this evening. McGhee needs some support, there's no-one backing him up. Hayes playing it forward, Bell being forced to do it all alone, now forward from Marr, here's Ritchie, still Andy Ritchie, look at the control... That is a marvellous goal from Andy Ritchie. Twenty minutes on the clock and Morton's supporters come alive. A goal which epitomises the control, the arrogance, the cheek of Andy Ritchie. Think the format is a bit tired now. Not a lot of options but it's the same patter, food, etc every time and it's relying on the same people going so would be good to mix it up a bit. Also think about a host that most people don't find annoying.

Also think about a host that most people don't find annoying. I think that's a key point, it's reached saturation point. I went twice last season and on both occasions Gerry's patter had us wincing with embarrassment at points - referring to the only woman in attendance as the 'token female', creepily massaging her shoulders and refusing to stop addressing her, even when everyone in the room could tell she was visibly uncomfortable, was one particular highlight. I'm all for a bit of near-the-knuckle humour in a setting such as hospitality, but that felt like something else entirely. I think looking at revamping the format could be worthwhile, but personally I won't be back in hospitality until the host is replaced. 1 You address me by my proper title, you little bollocks! Pretty much sums up what I think too and know a few others that say the same with different examples but similar descriptions being used.

We should get another local guy like David Tanner to be the Hospitality gobshite. We should move quickly too, before he becomes famous. WE'LL COME BACK ONE DAY, WE NEVER REALLY WENT AWAY. Been over 20 years since I was in hospitality and the thing which puts me off is seeing them all being sent back to their seats after the break and missing at least 5 minutes of the 2nd half.
