On what grounds do you assume that GMFC's recruitment process arrived at the best possible candidate for the job? The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before.. So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. As I’m not aware of any, my belief is that we unfortunately don’t attract the described candidates. I know the wage is shite and the I don’t think the role is attractive enough to compensate for that.

Let's leave the application process to one side and focus with the next stage - selection of the right candidate from those who applied and are shortlisted for interview. What leads you to assume that GMFC automatically arrived at the best possible candidate from that process? 2 The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. Defining who the 'best' candidate is is so subjective, that's an impossible question to answer. I see that regularly as part of an interview panel, where the opinions on candidates can often be diametrically opposed. It's actually quite rare to get a consensus. It's actually an easy question to answer: there's no grounds to support the assumption that the best qualified candidate available for the job was chosen. That depends entirely on the rigour of the shortlist and interview process conducted. Which given that our recently appointed GM can't demonstrate a fundamental grasp of the business' revenue base months into the job, cannot be assumed to be in place. Just like Gus McPherson or James Grady weren't automatically the best choice for first team manager just because they actually got that job. The trait that unites our current GM, Dave McKinnon and Iron Man before him is a flair for corporate speak bullshit. If GMFC is not able to see through that bullshit when interviewing candidates, then the pattern of dung appointments is entirely explicable. The Bewilderedbeast
Not suggesting that Morton should try this, and don't really know where such a thing could be put without being vandalised or broken into. Just found it interesting that's all. I'm in Cyprus just now and saw that Paphos F C have a vending machine in the shopping mall. It's selling the likes of keyrings, coasters and drawstring bags etc. First time I've ever seen such a thing but suppose it allows those who want these things to pick them up to do so, while the club shop is closed, as it was today. Cet Homme Charmant
Have any other overseas fans heard if they intend to have a subscription for live match streaming this season? Sent a mail to the club and am awaiting a reply, but was wondering if there had already been a communication about it and I missed it. Ta much! Alibi
There seem to be streams for all the games so far, so I would assume that will continue. No commentary, just the basic stream, and presumably they're doing it anyway for use at training so it's not costing anything extra to produce. Indeed, I had a streaming subscription the last two seasons so I assume there will be the same on offer this season. You would have thought though that existing subscribers would have been contacted by now with a renewal offer, rather than having to chase them up about it. Just checked the website and there is a link to "passes" where they used to sell a streaming pass (think it was about £150 for the season for league matches) but there's nothing on there at the moment - maybe email the club and ask as they've probably just forgotten about it. For the games so far that have been streamed on a pay as you go basis, they are not usually added to the website until shortly before the game.
