Scott Burns, who has a ridiculously good track record for getting exclusives right, is reporting that Ayr will offer the job to Hopkin.

We really need to get Jacobs, Colville and McAdams signed up on extensions before Hopkin offers them a pre contract.

Hopefully he does the same with Blues, Muirhead, McGinty etc

Be surprised if any of the players want to stay at Morton.

Peter Weatherson is the greatest player since Ritchie, and should be assigned 'chairman for life'

'James Wallace'.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

Correct. Complete rebuild going to be required for next season.

Good - because none of the players out of contract are irreplaceable and it gives us the prime opportunity to have a rethink about how the first team should be structured.

I strongly believe it's time to run with a hybrid system: having a core of young prospects who would benefit from full-time fitness and skills training (Strapp and Lyon being obvious picks for that now), supplemented by more experienced part-timers who come in when the team does its tactical and set-piece and other preparation work in evening sessions. Given the current budget and the risks of transitioning to fan ownership, we'll only be shopping in the bargain bin for a good few years if we stay entirely full-time. We'd be in a much stronger position to dominate the part-time market, instead of some stupid wee outfits like Arbroath and Alloa, while taking a more selective pick of full-time market as well instead of whatever ringers an agent dumps at our door in the middle of July.

We need a more flexible setup to adapt to our precarious situation now and can always revert to entirely full-time in the future if there's a good reason to do so.

Agreed.  I know things are a bit uncertain with the proposed takeover, but to fail to sign up our best players (and I include Jacobs & Colville in that; Macadams possibly, and Strapp and Lyon already have another year to run) for next season would be daft, whoever owns the club next season.

ICT v Raith on TV just now.

Tumilty booked in the 2nd minute.

McGhee needs some support, there's no-one backing him up.
Hayes playing it forward, Bell being forced to do it all alone, now forward from Marr, here's Ritchie, still Andy Ritchie, look at the control...

That is a marvellous goal from Andy Ritchie. Twenty minutes on the clock and Morton's supporters come alive. A goal which epitomises the control, the arrogance, the cheek of Andy Ritchie.

How is it still 0-0 with the chances so far?

Both sides are creating chances but their strikers are absolute horse.

Need to hope Raith hold on and Dundee ca  turn things around.

Currently sitting in 8th but we dont want ayr and Inverness to gain any momentum.

I've downgraded my expectations to a draw in the game at Stark's, and hope Dundee get their finger out in the second-half.
