Some people are being a bit carried away. If you're Reese James or Cole Palmer you're obviously going to hear from the chairman's representatives about where the club is going and what the squad and management plan is, because you have a team of agents who can get you into almost every top club in the world if things aren't to your liking. With all due respect to Ian Wilson, who is a fine player and apparently a very decent guy as well, he primarily needs to know the financial package he's getting. Yes, all else being equal players will gravitate towards the club with a stronger team to play in so they have the best chance of winning games and winning bonuses, but at our level of football and our level of recruitment I think it's a bit overkill to need to sell players on a 'project' of ownership.

Wtf - he's a football player. Should we also be showing Nathan Shaw a full organisation chart and financial projections as part of any (hopefully not forthcoming) contract discussions?

And just who exactly is going to be tasked with all these completely unnecessary communications to all and sundry, or are we going to borrow Inverclyde Council's chatbot to do that job instead?

I’m not sure gently asking if there’s any news that can be shared is looking for completely unnecessary communications to all and sundry.

I still stand by being able to sell a club with ambition to players as worthwhile, and the earlier the better?

I’m glad Toby took the time to post on here today though and appreciate his efforts.

I wouldn’t be putting any proposals to Shaw, despite the fact I thought he was decent yesterday.

I don’t know anything about Inverclyde Council Chatbots.

I am more worried about what is being done to plug the budget shortfall now the Dalrada deal is all but finished. Hope the board are actively persuing other sponsorship avenues for next seasons budget.

If players want a full picture of their future "the earlier the better", then they should have done a better job of picking up points, such as on Saturday.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

Was it not explained that the Estrella deal isn’t intended for player wages?

They aren't a sponsor either - got the strips and stadium naming that should hopefully be bringing in some replacement money.

I don't think there was any stipulation regarding how the Estrella money will be spent, whereas all the Dalrada money was to be used on the player budget.

The info pack that went out back in February said this (emphasis mine)

Quote

What Are Estrella’s Priorities for the Investment?

Estrella believes that medium- and long-term objectives in terms of sporting and commercial success will be achieved by investing in the modernisation of club operations, an investment in youth and player development, and restructuring of marketing and commercial relationships. They believe that sporting success is more likely to be achieved as a result of modernisation and growth in every area of the club’s activities, rather than by a narrow focus on spending on the first-team squad; they also believe that success requires a gradual 5 process, perhaps involving a hundred small changes in how the cub operates, as opposed to a sudden overhaul.

To me this reads that while it's not intended to be "here's 750k to spaff on Nacho Novo and Rowan Vine", it's not 100% strictly earmarked either. It could be, for example, that 'player development' means signing a certain player for the first team with a view to selling him on.

New home and away shirts have space for 4 sponsors each that along with shirt sponsor and stadium sponsorship should bring in revenue to the club. Would like to think home shirt isn't far away from release especially since smiths have reduced this season's shirt.

Must be nearly up.

Day 28 of due diligence was the 19th April going by the previous page, at least three more weeks before it’s done

Stuart’s letter comes across as being very defensive despite Russell not mentioning or trying to put any blame on him personally.

The view from the shed article is clearly written from a supporters point of view and not in any way claiming to be representing the views of MCT.

Stuart mentions how Russell “offers little explanation” around the Millen departure only to immediately do the same himself by basically saying the board had to let him go “because reasons”.

I don’t think anyone could deny that timing of the Dalrada deal negatively impacted our transfer business, Millens departure was poorly handled, and that Davies appointment brought zero benefits on or off the park, so questioning it seems like a strange hill to die on - especially when offering no meaningful information to the contrary.

Stuart seems to be revelling in having inside information and not telling anyone. And agree above, bizarre attack on the MCT board who are more active now than at any other time.

Peter Weatherson is the greatest player since Ritchie, and should be assigned 'chairman for life'
