Clydeview Posted November 3, 2018 Posted November 3, 2018 Oh for ****s sakes. Dr Z now having a pop at Millar Never been a fan of Millar, have stated that before... all too slow, sideways and backwards way too often. In today's formation, three in midfield... Tidser is an automatic, McAlister for dig, and it's either Telfer or Millar battling for the third place - it would certainly be Telfer for me. jimbobton Posted November 3, 2018 Posted November 3, 2018 Bob McHugh has made a career doing what hes doing of late. Stop talking pishThe shagger as he was known from his well days is oozing confidence. His first was class and he deserved a hat trick. Did Gaston have a save to make? When did we last score 5 in the championship? How bad is Gastons kicking? How good a player is M I C H A E L T I D S E R? Actually thought thistle had a few good players Storey and no 17? But their defence?! Quitongo was pretty gash What an afternoon and starts to address our goal difference. Same again next week please Well done JJ

Alibi Posted November 3, 2018 Posted November 3, 2018 Best day at Cappielow in a long time, although after we got the fifth (outrageous - can't wait to see the video) we seemed to take the foot off the gas a wee bit. i was hoping for 10. The thistle defence is utterly hopeless - they all have a poor first touch and crumble under the slightest pressure. Their best defender was probably Tam O'Ware... Quitongo did nothing all afternoon and even Kilday seemed to be able to out-run him. I reckon his injuries have taken their toll and he's not actually the threat he was. 5 excellent goals, MotM performance by Jack Iredale, and a superb final 75 minutes by Tidser. We appear to have a functioning team now with the 5 at the back system, and I reckon when Denny returns we are going to have the firepower to give someone a right doing. Top 4 with the injuries we have had is pretty good going. "Bob the Builder". Genius. "Any nation given the opportunity to regain its national sovereignty and which then rejects it is so far beneath contempt that it is hard to put words to it."
vikingTON Posted November 3, 2018 Author Posted November 3, 2018 When did we last score 5 in the championship? AFAIK we last scored five at home at this level when Brian Wake bagged two and orchestrated a 5-0, absolute drubbing of Raith Rovers on 14 November 2009. We of course horsed Queen of the South 5-0 on their own midden in the 2016-17 campaign. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-AKfsvAGV9k The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before.. So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

Andre Boe Posted November 3, 2018 Posted November 3, 2018 We last scored 5 at Cappielow at this level against Airdrie in 2013.
TRVMP Posted November 3, 2018 Posted November 3, 2018 Amazing to think that only five seasons ago Airdrie were in the Championship. Totally forgot they even existed now.

There's a storm on the horizon And for that I can't see the sun For I'll keep a waiting on the pavement For the ice cream van to come
EanieMeany Posted November 3, 2018 Posted November 3, 2018 Gaston's kicking is fine. Incase you didn't notice it was a wee bit windy today. Yep, few dodgy ones early but got the hang of it. The attempted drive down the left was excellent. Gaston is by far our best keeper. AWMSC
AyrshireTon Posted November 3, 2018 Posted November 3, 2018 Amazing to think that only five seasons ago Airdrie were in the Championship. Totally forgot they even existed now. Airdrie, or at least a version of Airdrie, were in the top flight more recently than we were. McGhee needs some support, there's no-one backing him up. Hayes playing it forward, Bell being forced to do it all alone, now forward from Marr, here's Ritchie, still Andy Ritchie, look at the control... That is a marvellous goal from Andy Ritchie. Twenty minutes on the clock and Morton's supporters come alive. A goal which epitomises the control, the arrogance, the cheek of Andy Ritchie.
TRVMP Posted November 4, 2018 Posted November 4, 2018 Airdrie, or at least a version of Airdrie, were in the top flight more recently than we were. Yep, and in Europe, and in a major Cup final. Now look at them. Sad!
Guest capitanus Posted November 4, 2018 Posted November 4, 2018 Yep, and in Europe, and in a major Cup final. Now look at them. Sad! No it's not, it's fucking hilarious. Next.
shagster Posted November 4, 2018 Posted November 4, 2018 Ive no doubt the snake will try and convince Tidser to join him at Falkirk as he absolutely loved him during his time here! No doubt Falkirk will be able to offer a decent wage but fully expect Tidser to tell him where to go... Unfortunately money talks and if he continues to play the way he is, he will have multiple offers on the table and we will do very well to hold onto him. Offer a 3 year deal now Crawford! The only way Tidser would meet Judas in Falkirk was to look at the Wheel , as snakey will soon have lots of free time to fill in his days.
Ray Von Posted November 4, 2018 Posted November 4, 2018 No it's not, it's ****ing hilarious. Next. Got to admit, I prefer a league with Airdrie in it.
EanieMeany Posted November 4, 2018 Posted November 4, 2018 Got to admit, I prefer a league with Airdrie in it. Me too. A juniors one, ideally. AWMSC
Guest capitanus Posted November 4, 2018 Posted November 4, 2018 Got to admit, I prefer a league with Airdrie in it. The current incarnation is not the same Airdrie as you remember from years back though. They are a poor imitation of their former selves.
TheGoon Posted November 4, 2018 Posted November 4, 2018 Best game at Cappielow in some time. First 15 minutes or so aside, our best performance under JJ. Iredale was tremendous and I’m delighted to see McHugh firing. We were aided by Partick being absolute horseshit, but the manner in which we dismantled them was particularly pleasing. We looked dangerous on the break and there was a tempo to our play that’s been lacking for a few months now. Took our foot off the gas a bit in the last quarter, really could’ve made the scoreline even more emphatic (and nearly did tbf) but I’ll just put that down to tiredness. 3 points next week and we can really kick on. Maybe the playoffs aren’t out of the question after all? (Also, I love Kerr Waddle. Something is seriously wrong at Dundee if he’s still here come January)
irnbru Posted November 4, 2018 Posted November 4, 2018 The current incarnation is not the same Airdrie as you remember from years back though. They are a poor imitation of their former selves. This is likely to be the drink talking but when you think about things that way and factor in these teams having more success then us, it makes you wonder if it's worth it. There's a certain sense of pride about being a morton fan and knowing we've done things this way, and it's hard but it's part of the reason I love supporting the team.
