As above. More league titles than any other club in Scotland, apart from life's losers in the east end of Glasgow. I think a precedent may have been set for this by a deceased football club; not sure which one though, as I don't think Third Lanark or Port Glasgow Athletic were that successful.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

I doubt Gretna were either. Must have been the original Airdrieonians then.

I'd be happy with a star.

Bump. Turns out there isn't just a single precedent - Aberdeen apparently have two stars above their badge; One for a European Cup Winner's Cup - fair enough - and the second for, erm, a European Super Cup - the continental version of the Renfrewshire Cup, with even fewer contestants and credibility involved.

Morton achieving la décima is a far more worthy achievement than that nonsense, and like all the other elite football clubs in the country have fully earned a star to get it right up the minnows, also-rans and losers who will never get close to our level of success.

Get it sorted.

If possible we should replace the whole strip with a giant star leaving only space for eye holes, a bit like the invincibility power up from Mario Kart.

I don't like stars. 4 crowns or a bottle of LD would reflect our heritage more appropriately.

If I'm right then 7 of the 10 have been in the last 51 years (some of the seasons may be out by a year or two)...

63-64 - 2nd division

77-78 - 1st division

83-84 - 1st division

93-94 - 2nd division

02-03 - 3rd division

05-06 - 2nd division

14-15 - league 1

That mean we only won three championships in the first 90 years of our existence. That can't be right surely?

1949-50 - Division B

1963-64 - Division 2

1966-67 - Division 2

1977-78 - 1st Division (new)

1983-84 - 1st Division

1986-87 - 1st Division

1994-95 - 2nd Division (new)

2002-03 - 3rd Division

2006-07 - 2nd Division

2014-15 - League 1

McGhee needs some support, there's no-one backing him up.
Hayes playing it forward, Bell being forced to do it all alone, now forward from Marr, here's Ritchie, still Andy Ritchie, look at the control...

That is a marvellous goal from Andy Ritchie. Twenty minutes on the clock and Morton's supporters come alive. A goal which epitomises the control, the arrogance, the cheek of Andy Ritchie.

Here was Me thinking you meant the 1922 triumph. Fond memories of that day.

We are not home and dry, we could not even be said to be home and vigorously towelling ourselves off!

Hard to believe we had no championships at all in the first 75 years of our existence.

We did earn a few promotions in those years, but as runners up (or in the very early days, we were ELECTED to join Division 1 from Division 2 - promotion was not automatic and even finishing top didn't guarantee you moving up).
