General Election 2015

Otherwise known as rubber-necking, while Scottish Labour are absolutely obliterated at the hands of the SNP; our local donkey in a red rosette is already absolutely finished as a politician.

Danny Alexander finished.

Margaret Curran on the edge.

Douglas Alexander fighting for his political life.

The benchmark over/under total for SNP seats is currently running at 42 MPs; an absolutely unprecedented earthquake in the UK political system. So much for agreeing to a referendum to stave off pesky Jocknats eh.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

It will be interesting to see the final numbers on seats won in May. My concern remains that as with the Yes/No referendum many on the big day will lose their bottle and some of the self-serving 'Red' chancers will keep their noses in the trough. I never usually feel anything other than empathy with those that lose their jobs but as with the odd football manager I am willing to make an exception.

It will be fascinating to see how the UK plays out if the SNP end up holding the trump card.

The mainstream media in England have already ramped up the xenophobia/racism.  Some of the stuff in the English papers would be regarded as a criminal offence if it was written about any other ethnic or national group.  They are absolutely shyting themselves about the possibility that the SNP will hold the balance of power.  Strange how we were all supposed to be Better Together, all one happy family of nations, all equal.  It now turns out that they only meant that as long as we returned a trainload of unionist lobby fodder.

Particularly amusing is the outrage that what happens in England might be affected by the votes of, or as they put it, dictated to, by Scottish MPs.  How come it has been fine for the last 300 years for Scotland to be dictated to by English MPs?  Touch of hypocrisy there, as well as a clear vision of how we are regarded.

Polls suggest the sNP might even take Dumfries.  That really is a wow moment.

"Any nation given the opportunity to regain its national sovereignty and which then rejects it is so far beneath contempt that it is hard to put words to it."

I was beginning to wonder where all the Cybernats had gone.

Cue another couple of pages on why the SNP are wonderful, and everyone who isn't SNP are utter scum and charlatans.

If the polling data stay relatively constant, I don't expect my stauner to retract between now and voting day. Someone hospitalize me because this priapism is here to stay.

What an absolute humiliation it will be for the British establishment for the SNP to even break half the seats in Scotland (which at this stage seems almost inevitable.) The BBC will be painting anything south of fifty as a failure, but we all know that's nonsense and just a sign of how high our expectations are now. The natural party of government in Scotland being avowedly anti-Union - imagine even daring to hope for that as recently as five years ago. Oaft.

Imagine being a unionist right now, knowing the country is against you. Minter.

Just remember NachOrim, for almost two years, nay even longer - we were reading on this very messageboard countless posts by some, including yourself about 'thu momentum is with thu Yes cumpaign'

Guess what, you didn't win the Referendum.  55% - the majority - rejected the notion of Scottish Nationalism.  Its a spent force.

The SNP only want your subscription money for membership (just like that other failed outfit you associate with - the GMST)  by continuing to peddle a myth to the deluded masses.

I never thought we were going to win; as I said, I'm going off the polling data, not this forum.

As a paid-up member of the Scottish Greens, I wish the SNP the very best of luck in the Westminster election, and they will succeed without my subscription. As for GMST, my membership has lapsed.

Apparently the 'Pesky Scot' level has been upgraded from 'threat' to 'sinister', haha! I think the next level is 'evil', it'll come as sure as night follows day. Nomatter how the general election pans out, it's fun in the meantime seeing the British establishment wet their manky knickers. :)

I thought it was good, indeed very good in parts. Potential voters will note Miliband's shameful (particularly shameful - his father who fled to the UK from the threat of extermination must be turning in his grave) pandering to Farage's xenophobic, anti-immigrant populism.

The mainstream parties apparently have a lot to fear from Farage and UKIP. No fear shown at all though from the Greens, Plaid Cymru and the SNP. Their arguments directly confronted UKIP's closet racism, together with a passionate deconstruction of the dishonest mainstream austerity consensus that scapegoats the poor and vulnerable.

I applaud them for that. There is an alternative, really there is.

Easy win for Sturgeon as expected: McKenzie better start packing his bags.

they can afford to show no fear, as they'll probably not be making up the majority of any government.  And I say that as a green party voter.  Until we change the voting system in the UK away from the ridiculous FPTP, it will continue to be who do we fear most.  The only bright side is that the UKIP vote is crumbling.
