I would struggle to make a case for anyone in the current squad to be captain. I therefore suggest a left field option and would be grateful for someone to start a poll with the following options: Cappie, the Kitman, Gillian Donaldson, a random fan from the crowd for each game, one of the ballboys and VT. All clearly have different qualities that could inspire the team to new lows and ensure the DDFR 5 year plan comes to a shuddering nothing.

I don't know, I'd probably find it easier to get worked up about this if I felt this squad was going to be together next season, but at least 70% of them will be away, Fitzpatrick included (I assume). It's just going through the motions at this point.

The team was relegated bar the shouting at the end of October, the chairman is nowhere to be seen; I can't think why Morton fans are incapable of expressing contempt at more than one problem at the same time. The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before.. So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. Loathing implies at the very least a level of equality between the two figures in question, whereas contempt is more appropriate for another vile character to have washed up at this once proud club. In terms of performances on a football pitch, absolutely: unless it gives players an unwise sense of self-importance and competency, such as, erm, Marc Fitzpatrick trying to berate Stuart Findlay. In terms of appeasing the fans, a core level that is in danger of sliding off a precipice in disgust at this season's efforts, then it absolutely is relevant. The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it.
