vikingTON Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 It's always strange to note the happy-clappers being content with punting a terminal manager, without ever questioning the position of other unimpressive no-marks similarly employed at the club. What has a total waste of space like Gillian Donaldson achieved to merit a permanent paid role at the club exactly? Similarly, how has a certain Susan Gregory overseen a complete and utter shambles of a commercial dept. while emerging Scot-free from the rolling clusterfucks when it comes to promoting the club? If we're in the position to clear the club out of dross then we should be starting far above the most obvious issue: wage thieves like Bryan, Donaldson and Gregory completely waste the budget of the club for no tangible benefit whatsoever - get them hounded in the same way as the manager. The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before.. So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are
El gofer Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 i thought that susan gregory was no longer in the conmercial dept? am i wrong? 20.1.09
vikingTON Posted October 19, 2013 Author Posted October 19, 2013 Andy seems like a strange target!? Seems more like a 'strange' member of the dugout staff - unless there's a crease in Habai's shorts what purpose does he serve? Wage thief. cmdc Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Isn't it standard practice for the kit man to be in the dugout? True of most clubs I can think of. I've no idea what his job description is really so couldn't even begin to judge.
ThornTON Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 i thought that susan gregory was no longer in the conmercial dept? am i wrong? Still listed on the OS, although it hasn't been updated since she got married.
cmdc Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 i thought that susan gregory was no longer in the conmercial dept? am i wrong? As far as I'm aware she's still with the club.
jimbobton Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Andy seems like a strange target!? Yup. It's all his fault.........
ton5saints1 Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 To vikingTon Absolute disgraceful comments to make about Andy Bryan who is Morton through and through. Shameful.
Guest Andy Brady Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Who is the Commercial Manager at the club?
ThornTON Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Who is the Commercial Manager at the club? Susan Burns
BishyTON Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 While the kitman stuff is nonsense, VikingTON is completely correct that a lot of the backroom team are not fit for purpose. We are an extremely poorly run club and several members of the team need to be replaced. The commercial/online side of the club is especially bad. Mon the Ton
TAFKAC Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Not sure why he's having a go at the kit man, but the other targets are fair. "I learned long ago, never to wrestle with a pig. You get dirty, and besides, the pig likes it." George Bernard Shaw
Guest David Edwards Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Not sure why he's having a go at the kit man, but the other targets are fair. I don't think it's particularly fair. I wonder who on this daft wee messageboard, having sufficient knowledge of the inner workings and practices of the club's business administration, is qualified to make such judgements. There can be a number of reasons for poor performance and a number of ways to improve performance without resorting to sacking people.
TAFKAC Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 The targets are fair targets. I didn't say the solution was fair. Anyone with an ounce of running a business/youth club knows that the club is a mess. I'd love to see what the commercial team has for objectives and how their performance is measured. If they're tasked with shrinking the brand, and not developing a bigger fan base with a better relationship with the club, then they're doing well. If not, then they need a kick up the backside and clear deadlines to get better. If they don't get better then they might need to move to jobs, better suited to their skill set. Now that's fairer at least.
port-ton Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 The problem with the commercial side of things is that absolutely nothing can be done unless it's cleared by Dougie or his idea. Anyone would be fighting a losing battle in that position. blaming the kitman is just bizzare. Good people will do good things, bad people will do bad things, but only with religion do good people do bad things!
