Ground 'upgrading'?

I'm fairly sure that Planning/Building Warrant is in place for the WDE for the roof & seating.

Just a matter of contractor being appointed and getting the job done.

I think that is correct. I still think that we need to have work underway on site by the March 31st deadline or consideration won't be given to an extension of time for completion of the works. That used to be the rule when I was involved in these matters. It's a stupid rule as you have to commit to expenditure without knowing if you're going to win the title, but if we want to avoid a situation where we win promotion but can't accept it, we probably need to get moving pronto.

I don't think Ross County started any work until the season finished. If they did it couldn't have amounted to much more than a man walking around with a hammer.

TBH I don't think the SPL could make us start work until the end of the season, especially considering they don't even know yet what their stadium rules will be for next season. And considering that Ross County didn't start any major work until the season finished, I can't see it being a problem.

Plans are in place and you don't need to start work as per the precedent Ross County set last year. As a few people have said as long as plans are in place by 31st of March and accepted then we should be ok.

Given that we have planning permission for the extra seats all we need to do is discuss pitch protection so I don't think there is that much to worry about. The only restriction we have is that work must start before 25th of May or planning permission expires but obviously by then we will know if we've won the league anyway!

The cost is apparently £150,000 so not massive and hopefully covered by money we get if we get promoted.

What consists of work starting if we send the boys round with a sledge hammer and knock down the 1st 3 rows of the WDE (bit like H*** S*** did with the cow shed) will that count as work started.

Can do that at the weekend if needed.

Ok I’m just messing but is there an element of truth in it we do have planning perdition for the WDE and I think there is still perdition to put seats in the rest of the cow shed if not I don’t see any problems with this going through at the council end.

Alternatively maybe DR conversations with riverside Inverclyde have something to do with there being no statement as yet

the canopy over WDE will lead to a fair reduction in ground capacity

the drawings show 26 rows in WDE today but once the canopy is in place, only 21 rows.

so at least 500 of the capacity of the ground (based on WDE is something like 2700 to 3000 today)

Current capacity of the WDE is circa 3500. This will reduce to circa 3000 when the roof and buckets seats are in place. :)
