Telfer was signed as the direct replacement and intended upgrade on Andy Murdoch, who was not offered a new contract by Ray 'Ray' McKinnon to finance this transfer 'swoop'. While Murdoch's second season was not as good as his first (similar actually to Crawford in the season just finished), his performance levels ultimately proved to be far higher than the useless sand-dancer we replaced him with.

Telfer's comedy tap in and one good performance against Grangemouth doesn't cover for that. I mean that's still worth a lot, but the main reason why we were in jeopardy ourselves that season was due to Telfer being gubbins and the massive downgrade that represented for us in the middle of the park every single week.

I'd describe him as the waster's waster, but most of those classic cases actually had genuinely outstanding skill to fritter away. Telfer has taken a barely above mediocre skill set and consistently underperformed on that

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

Just read an article by Liam Grimshaw in the latest Nutmeg magazine. He speaks really highly of Morton as a community club and Scottish football as a whole. It’s brilliantly written, verging on poetic at times.

Didn’t know he had that in his locker!

I remember reading after he left Motherwell, I think on their fans' forum, one of their supporters saying that although he wasn't the best player, Grimmy just "got" what it meant to play for a provincial club from a post-industrial town in Scotland.

Aye, seen a few of his things, seems to enjoy travel, writing and blogging.

Josh McPake joins St Johnstone.

Alongside their international goalkeeper* leaving for Aberdeen, a promising couple of days for our League Cup progression chances.

They also added Sanders who didn't exactly tear the Championship up on loan at Ayr from Killie.

Building for the Championship 25/26.

Some odd business from St Johnstone this summer, Ikpeazu aside they're all mediocre championship players at best. Definitely nothing to fear going into the league cup.

I read somewhere that they have made significant losses over the past 2 seasons. Signing Sanders and mcpake would reinforce that.

A club managed by Craig Levein with Gus MacPherson as Director of Football making terrible signings shouldn't be a surprise, but McPake is such a wild shout they've managed it. A signing which would underwhelm every Championship support.

The general approach of filling out the squad with cheap cover to leave room for quality signings to improve the first XI as they've lost too much money through being saddled with long term deals for all the shite Callum Davidson signed (see Crawford, Ali) and need to cut back expenditure is fine, but there's signing gambles as cheap cover and there's signing players who obviously aren't good enough.

Know they have been going through a takeover so not sure how their finances are but St Johnstone fans say they lost nearly £3m the past too years which  isn't healthy.

Rickie Lamie allegedly training with Airdrie. If he's available bring him home Dougie.
