Ali Crawford released by St Johnstone.

Don't you dare Dougie.

Did he get a game for them last season? Not heard much about him.

I think Crawford with a full pre season under his belt would be a good player for us. He got off to a shaky start and you could see his confidence was completely shot, but there was flashes of a decent player there.

Just no.  He was terrible, not just needing a preseason.

Came off the bench in their first League Cup game when they lost to Stenhousemuir and hasn't made an appearance since despite being fit all season. Was on the bench a few times in April and May but didn't get on.

This is what gives me hope we won't be after him, as we could surely have had him back on loan in January/February if Imrie wanted him.

Michael Miller joins Dumbarton in League One from Lowland League team Broomhill.

He played for them before didn't he? I always liked Miller. Played out of position a lot by the manager (maybe Duffy?) but was ok during his time here.

And for that I can't see the sun

For I'll keep a waiting on the pavement

Yeah I think he was there on loan from Celtic before he came to us.

Watched the Junior Cup final this afternoon. A few things to note.

Dylan Dykes was playing for Arthurlie, good to see him playing at a decent level after his cancer diagnosis.

Ross Caldwell’s cross provided Darvel’s winner.

Colin Reilly, who broke Sean O’Connor’s leg in that infamous Challenge Cup game in 2002 is Arthurlie’s manager. I quite liked him in the brief time he was at Morton.

It must be about 15 years since we last played at Broadwood, and there’s not much chance we’ll be there anytime soon. Good, I don’t miss it.

That John Gall, Darvel’s money man, is a bit of a helmet.

The bit in bold, agree 100%.

The same guy who thought it acceptable to have a 'Kilmarnock  Pie' advert at Cappielow.  Thankfully they've been binned.

Craig McGuffie has joined the fairly substantial ex-Morton contingent at Dumbarton.

While Ross MacLean has left them to once again reunite with Raymond, with Forfar actually paying a fee for him.

Again? Did McKinnon not pay a fee to get him from Motherwell also...

With Shankland expecting to start in the opener tomorrow. I'm a bit hazy but he was rank with us wasn't he? Or was there a "player in there" when he played for us? I understand leaving us and moving to Ayr reignited his career but I really can't remember thinking much of him at the time.

I can remember a couple of decent poacher's goals and him being a waste of a jersey the other 99% of the time. Also seem to remember both sets of fans booing him as he was being subbed off for us against St Mirren, but my memory's fuzzy with him also so that might not even be true.

He admitted somewhere a while ago that he was fat and lazy at Morton.

Decent player but too heavy and too immobile to be of much use. My mate who supports St Mirren said in his first spell with them he was a good player (30 games, 10 goals) but was hopeless second time round as he came back 2 stone heavier (17 games, 0 goals). That’s when he joined us.

There’s a really noticeable difference in his physique from his time at Morton to at Ayr the following season, if you have a look on Google images.
