The appointment of Gus MacPherson has been an unmitigated disaster. Two wins out of twelve and one of those was a get-out-of-jail cup win in extra-time, against a team in the league below us. We obviously shat it when Ayr beat us at Cappielow and emptied McElhone, but that decision now looks to have cost us. The last act of self-sabotage of the Rae era, but MCT don’t get a pass on this one.

It was a repulsive appointment at the time, clouded by the relief at having an actual manager.

It has been an abject failure. They should have been emptied by now.

Outside of the Paisley connections I have nothing against Gus. I think he’s a decent enough guy, and was dealt a pretty shit hand with the circus of the squad he inherited. However - he took the job on. He’d watched us on multiple occasions this season and felt he had it within him to steer us to safety and was aware of our many faults, he’s unfortunately failed. He’s shown nothing to suggest he’s the man to take us out of League 1, bugger all. If we want to hit the refresh button, he has to be one of many shown the door. Thanks but no thanks.

The game against Ayr was our 10th in a row without a win - it was hardly a knee-jerk reaction. The fact that we happened to beat ICT after making the decision hardly points to McElhone guiding us to safety - just like Gus winning a couple of weeks later didn't lead to him managing that. We happened to pick up a few wins here and there over the season, but no manager did well enough. We weren't good enough throughout the season. No manager was a success.

If there was one particular decision that caused us a problem after the initial squad building disaster, it was putting a coach in charge who didn't even want the job rather than having a proper recruitment process when Hopkin left.

He was a Jobber at best in one of our worst seasons in living memory.  We were a last payday for him before he retired.  He is a Yorkshireman best known for playing at Kilmarnock, we are hardly what you could call 'Home' for him.

Raymond ‘Ray’ McKinnon gone from QP.

Mad.

Just when the Scottish football community was getting ready for next season with him, Falkirk and Morton all likely to be in the same league.

A wee shame.

And before anyone says it - NO.

I think almost any manager in the country could have won League Two with the squad and resources he had. Nonetheless, plucky wee QP are getting too big for their boots and it'll be hilarious when it all comes crashing down.
