vikingTON Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 We have a very difficult week ahead of us but a few suprise results could shake things up a bit at the same time. While we're rubbish at Dens and they're obviously favourites, I'm not convinced their side is much, if any, better than ours in truth. With some luck their midweek exertions will leave them running on empty. We also have no pressure on the side and nothing to lose. I expect to lose but am hopeful of getting something here. A shock 0-1 away win. The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before.. So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are
IainMorton Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Home win, 3-0. Hope I am wrong though and would be delighted with a point. Maybe change the formation and play it safe with a 4-5-1?
centralTON Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 I expect to lose but am hopeful of getting something here. A shock 0-1 away win. Going up with no expectations, but hopeful of maybe getting a draw.
Madton Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Home win, 3-0. Hope I am wrong though and would be delighted with a point. Maybe change the formation and play it safe with a 4-5-1? Id be quite annoyed if we did that. Should be going there to win, not scrape a draw!
Tonsilitis Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Our two meetings this season have been close. They just about deserved their 2-1 at Dens but the 1-0 win at Cappielow was daylight robbery! We should go up there and have a go. Everyone expects a home win so we have nothing to lose. Treat the match like a cup tie and see what happens. Like others, I go with no great expectations but hope for some kind of result.
cornbeef Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Id be quite annoyed if we did that. Should be going there to win, not scrape a draw! In the post Thistle interview Moore suggested that we wont be sitting in as we are as good as any team in this division (or words to the effect) Who knows what the outcome of this will be, depends partly on what version of our defence appears... the one which has been in evidence for most of the season, or the one ripped by ICT and QoS. Somebody has to bring their fantastic run to an end. Wouldn't it be great if it was us ? Show Racism the Red Card
vikingTON Posted February 25, 2011 Author Posted February 25, 2011 Home win, 3-0. Hope I am wrong though and would be delighted with a point. Maybe change the formation and play it safe with a 4-5-1? We could just set up with two banks of four and we would probably hold the ball better anyway. I think this is the type of game where we actually need a hold-up player so Puff'n'Fresh can play his cameo role: Cuthbert Evans McCaffrey Smyth McKinlay Jenkins Young Bachirou Tidser Weatherson Lyle (if fit, if not, Kean) I'd bring on Fitzharris at some stage to offer us more width, looking to take Fred off and move Jenkins into the centre. Stevie Aitken's Love Child Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 According to the bbc website Michael Tidser is suspended for tomorrow's game. I thought he had served his game for his sending off at Falkirk, unless the 2 bookings in that game put him over the points limit? Anyone know if he is out or not?

Sorry mate but the game at dens last time round if we had taken our chances we could have embarrassed dundee and that was in the first half, we were tired in the second half but still equalled them in everything but goals. Cant comment on the cappielow game, by all accounts the goal should have stood. Hope we get the result we deserve, i hope its a win. I have no compunction in saying that if some chap starts throwing grenades or starts using pistols, we shall kill him

cornbeef Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Just noticed that they're charging £19 for an adult, resulting in a change of plan for tomorrow. Not going, basically. I know it's only the price of firhill pie above the price others are charging, but they ripping the RRR's out of it. They should have reduced their prices by way of apology to all the fans they've cheated this season Show Racism the Red Card
The Naitch Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Missing this game due to work, not that I would have gone as I'm skint right now. Even though we're the two form sides in the league right now anything we get from this match will be a bonus. My head says 2-0 home win, my heart says 0-0 bore draw. C B Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Not going, wouldn't give the '6p in the £' cheats any of my hard earned cash <_>
IainMorton Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Shouldn't we be boycotting this game anyway? <_>
