vikingTON Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Can we just postpone this now and make the traditional midweek trip to Dingwall a formality? The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before.. So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are
Tooth & Nail Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 It could all be weather dependant & also when Alba Cup final due to be replayed. DIVISION 2 LEAGUE WINNERS 06/07
AyrshireTon Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 It could all be weather dependant & also when Alba Cup final due to be replayed. Alba final to be left until 2011, apparently. McGhee needs some support, there's no-one backing him up. Hayes playing it forward, Bell being forced to do it all alone, now forward from Marr, here's Ritchie, still Andy Ritchie, look at the control... That is a marvellous goal from Andy Ritchie. Twenty minutes on the clock and Morton's supporters come alive. A goal which epitomises the control, the arrogance, the cheek of Andy Ritchie.
stuart Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 They will surely play it on a weekend when QOTS are due to play Ross County anyway to minimise disruption to other teams?
The Naitch Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 They will surely play it on a weekend when QOTS are due to play Ross County anyway to minimise disruption to other teams? Certainly seems sensible ... their next meeting in the league is on January 22nd. "To be the man, you gotta beat the man"
giz Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 The news of the wrold has the Alba final rescheduled for next sunday (page 20 of goals) so we have the usual midweek trip !!!!!!!!!!!!!
centralTON Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 The news of the wrold has the Alba final rescheduled for next sunday (page 20 of goals) so we have the usual midweek trip !!!!!!!!!!!!! This has not been verified Giz, have checked both Ross Countys' and Queens' websites and they both say that the game won't be played until 2011.
JonaTon Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 It has been brought to our attention that there has been some speculation in some media sources that the Alba Cup Final would be rearranged for next weekend. The Scottish Football League have confirmed to the club that taking all circumstances into account, including the current weather conditions in Perth and the forecast for the week ahead, there is absolutely no intention to attempt to play the game next weekend. The match will not be rearranged until 2011 although we can be no more accurate than that at this moment. As soon as we have any further news on a date we will pass it on. http://www.qosfc.com/new_newsview.aspx?newsid=335 Twitter - JMitchell82
foobs the elder Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Dingwall to be frozen solid until next April Foobs the weatherman
Toby Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Alba final to be left until 2011, apparently. Knowing our luck it'll fall on the weekend we're due back up to Ross County in March, leaving us with 6 midweek trips in a row up there, assuming Saturday's game's off.

chris_mceleny Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 Alba final to be left until 2011, apparently. your signature....takes you back to 1976.....go figure what?
Cawston Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 your signature....takes you back to 1976.....go figure what? I'm not getting the McGraw reference either. During McGraws time the RC was a reserve tournament, don't even remember it being on every year. Up until 10 years ago the stats in the programme and on the Morton websites of the time still had us ahead, so if anything it's our recent record that's let us down. Along the track the train came puffin, Morton 1 Celtic nuffin.

The RC isn't competitive (in a national context), so he's not counting that... Soccerbase has it as 56-37-71, so not sure what he's counting! It normally has some stuff wrong, but not that many games wrong!

It normally has some stuff wrong, but not that many games wrong! What a doughnut, when I read it I 'saw' Renfrewshire Cup instead of Derbies. That explains that then! We didn't beat them at Cappielow for a ridiculous amount of time, something like between '83 and a 2-0 midweek win in the mid to late 90's. Along the track the train came puffin, Morton 1 Celtic nuffin.
Savo Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 Should be a decision made on the game tomorrow, County actually say the pitch is covered and ok, although they have a load of snow to shift. Even if they do, it may be that travel concerns put paid to the game, imagine the roads up there will be cuntable for the team, and fans, to travel up on. Latest
