Dumbarton V Morton

I'd switch to a 4-3-3 for this one, they always park the bus against us and we need a bit more up front to come home with a comfortable win.

Stewart

McGregor Smyth McCaffrey McKinlay

Jenkins Young Tidser

Kean Weatherson Graham

Bench: Cuthbert, O'Brien, Monti, Evans, Toto

And a handsome 3-0 away win.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

Wow - Davie McGregor covering both full back positions!

As always I'm torn between posting what I would do if I was manager, and what I think Moore might do.

Personally something along the lines you suggest would be exciting (although I might let McKinlay play at LB) or maybe with Kean at a sort of RW position and a more conventional left winger?

However, Moore is very conventional and also seems to use cup games to rotate the squad, so I wouldn't be surprised to see Cuthbert get a start, then the usual back four, perhaps Bachirou and/or Holmes in midfield, conventional wingers and may be Kelbie getting a start?

I've had second thoughts.

I agree with 4-3-3 for this game, but it will more likely be 4-4-2, swap Monti for Weatherson.

I'm thinking 2-1 win. We go 2-0 up with strikes from Kean and Monti then lose a goal with 15 mins to go and it's squeeky bum time after that

I think Kelbie might get a run out, even off the bench after his showing against the skunks in the bounce game.

Likewise, I would probably stick with 4-4-2 as for 4-3-3 to work you need wide guys who can become part of midfield when its goes to 4-5-1 and I don't think Keane or Graham can do that well enough. I would probably put Monti on the left even though he had a poor game against Thistle and relegate Peter to the bench.

Wee bit concerned about this one as we've struggled against them over the past few games. Hoping they're not due a result against us. On the upside we may have a couple of extra players to pick from with Fred and (hopefully) Fitzharris in contention. I think we may take a lower support this time because it's Dumbarton again and the general apathy following Saturdays s***e game etc, which is a shame because for me, this is the biggest game of our season so far.

Surely putting Morton next to Greenock would be easier?!

This is a website that spends entire seasons with variations of player names between the report and the team-lines below it.

Who's to say what goes through these people's minds when updating the site?

Can't see much in the way of rotation tomorrow, I'd be surprised to see Cuthbert, or likes of Greacen, entering the fray - I think Moore's acutely aware of the need to get through this round and see what the draw may bring from a financial perspective.

I can see Toto dropping out for Kean but that aside not much else in the way of change. Even having just the two up front should be ok, I don't think you necessarily need three men in the attack as has been suggested by some.

With Kean in there it straight away we get a bit more mobility and movement up front. That alone should make it much easier for us to play the game in the opposition's half, like Moore's been talking about. Maybe the likes of Kelbie will get a run from the bench if all's going well.

The price of 10/11 for us is about right and not bad value I think.

While it can't possibly be as bad as the game at Firhill last week, I'm expecting a dour, scrappy game today. Going for a 1-0 'Ton win with Kean getting the goal - I'll be wrapping up warm as well as it's set to be bloody freezing through there.
