AJCTON
after watching the game yesterday i was wondering if anyone else still has faith. The first half yesterday was fantastic, we ruled the roost and had good shouts for at least one penalty. Dundee went ahead against the run of play when we could have been well ahead. I still have faith in the team and the manager, i jst think we need a bit of luck in front of goal, both peter and kean did well as did the rest of the team. I do think that when they do click and get a bit of we will give someone a real hammering. Thoughts. I have no compunction in saying that if some chap starts throwing grenades or starts using pistols, we shall kill him
vikingTON
I have every confidence that we'll acheive a very comfortable midtable finish. Our next two away games are very important and we should see an upturn there. If we don't see that then I'll be concerned, but not before. The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before.. So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

After Christmas we were looking down the barrell, and there was so much complacency, predictions all over the place of a comfortable mid-table finish. Well, the scapegoat players are gone, and we dont have Ayr and Airdrie to guarantee our survival. Saturday at Dens told the story - mastery of the first half when they should have had the game closed out against a crowd of guys who've just been bumped for their wages. Some decent players, but this is not a winning side.

AJCTON
Sadly, no. We're going down, and yes, I do think you can call it this early in the season. Some decent players, but this is not a winning side. I firmly believe if we play most teams in this league like we did yesterday we will get results. In front of goal we need a bit more craft and luck and i do think that will come, with peter scoring yesterday i think he will start to get his confidence back. It aint all doom and gloom, there are positives, we aint conceding barrel loads, we have a decent group of midfielders with more to come back, i do think it will come in front of goal, i do hope it aint too late when it does I have no compunction in saying that if some chap starts throwing grenades or starts using pistols, we shall kill him
Guest David Edwards
Aye, faith hope and charity. Faith in Dougie's charity that might buy a new striker for christmas and then hope that things can only get better. Wait a minute, that sounds horribly familiar. Alibi
It's not a matter of having faith, which is a belief not based on facts. The crux of the matter is that we can play some nice passing football when we choose to do so, but we have no decent strikers - or we have one decent striker who is either off form, unfit or past it depending on what line you take. I wasn't at Dens yesterday but I went to Palmerston and the Pars central striker, who I think might have been Pat Clarke, caught the eye as what we need. Pacey and strong, and constantly getting into good positions. Our strikers are immobile (excepting Kean to be fair) and don't really look like the sort of players that other teams will fear. Yet again, the transfer window has passed, leaving us with a load of second-raters who just can't do the biz. It's going to be a long hard season if what I have seen so far is any guige, and I have no reason to think that our team is currently in third gear - what you see is about as good as they seem able to achieve. What we should be doing is feeding O'Brien and Harris and hitting the byeline at ever chance - what we seem to do is hoof the ball into the area and watch the opposition central defenders head it away. The fact that Moore actually put Toto in the team without having seen him kick a ball (I assume) does not fill me with confidence, although I assume his total absence yesterday might indicate that Moore, even if he doesn't know a good player when he sees one, does recognise a donkey. Re Peter, I hear he scored a tap in from a yard out. That sounds a bit like luck to me, not skill or effort. My mother could probably bundle the ball over the line from that range if it landed in front of her, and she's 90. "Any nation given the opportunity to regain its national sovereignty and which then rejects it is so far beneath contempt that it is hard to put words to it." Don't tell vikington, but if we had a strikeforce like Kirk and Clarke we could be top of the league.
blakesan
In the short time Graham was on the park at Dens, he got into good scoring positions twice. An example of reason being overcome by blind faith when you begin to think that Graham can find the net. Maybe I'm not the hardened rationalist I thought I was. Rasta Ton
Alibi - Toto trained during the week with Morton before playing on the Saturday so he wasn't thrown in unseen. As for do I have faith - it's certainly concerning at the moment but there's a lot of football still to be played and if I remember rightly the season we won the 2nd division, Moore's Stirling never won a game in the first quarter and ended up giving us a close run. He's had to construct a whole new team. FIRST DIVISION RUNNERS UP 2012/13 Hey Man - Enough of your Stupidness

It was the previous season but they did not bad in the end. And of course their first win was at Cappielow. Tonsilitis
There are so many people condemning the team having not seen the game. I have been at all our away games bar Dunfermline and the only thing between us and something from all of those games was a wee bit of luck. Yesterday the first goal came totally against the run of play and the least we deserved was a draw. The problem is that many of the worst critics have only seen us at Cappielow where we have not played well but away, we have played a lot of decent football and just lacked a wee kiss from lady luck! I remain pretty confident we can crack it this season.
