TRVMP Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 We should have let him go to Partick when he was ready to pack his bags. Unfortunately we offered a 3 year deal (with testimonial) which is an absolute joke. He has been absolutely terrible and would have been better in the stand yesterday as he did nothing. I would look to get rid of him but is he really gonna go when he has the security of 3 years, decent pay and a testimonial? We made a blunder with that deal. Apparently he was up for leaving until McCall employed Irons at Thistle.
chrissiboi Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Bollocks, he's had at least 18 hours of football on the pitch since then. He isn't blaming his injury for lack of form, so why should anyone else? The reality is he needs to be dropped as he isn't contributing. I don't disagree with you on that front but you have to question one of two things 1) What the hell are Kelbie and Graham doing during the week that does not convince yet another manager they would be a better option ? 2) Why are we employing another manager who fails to improve the quality of the players who have made us perennial relegation strugglers ? For those who supported and now oppose PW's place at Cappielow, we can't get rid, the club made the error of re-signing this layabout who only ever wants to do it when he feels like it. No one is going to sign him, we will get fits and starts performances from him again this season when he feels like it, injury or no injury. He almost seems in a permanent huff. DDF in particular has wasted money hand over fist, contract after contract, for his blue eyed boy who can do no wrong. As for a testimonial, these are usually reserved for hero's, legends etc. He ain't one and even if he goes on to score 25 goals for us this season I will not be further lining his pockets. Sorry for the brutal honesty but that is my opinion. Not for the first time the club get things wrong. If the last few bad managerial appointments have taught us anything it has to be that we can not afford to have players on contracts longer than one year. I certainly wouldn't have offered anymore than a year deal to Weatherson, as for testimonials I think these things should be suggested by supporters rather than coming from contract negociations.
big B Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 He will be getting no money off of me for his testimonial unless he changes his attitude. If he is not fit fair enough but tell the manager and get the treatment the injury deserves. If he is just going through the motions and Partick still want him I will drive him up to Firhill in January free of charge.
LargsTON Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 --> QUOTE(C B @ Aug 30 2010, 12:50 PM) 768030[/snapback] Peter definately is marmite where the Morton fans are concerned and it's also well known that Peter hated Alex Williams and I wonder if it's the Alex Williams lovers that hate Peter and have never forgiven him for 2003/2004? I never knew that. I thought they were best mates! "CORNBEEF IS A BELLEND"

Given he's on at least £200 more than the highest paid player at Firhill, there's no way in hell he'll be moving there.

ThornTON Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 Speculation, Salty. Thistle wage bill isn't speculation, I know that as fact, but Peter's is, admittedly.
LargsTON Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 Not one for defending Weatherson but I was amazed at how low his wage on his last contract was when I was told. I've no reason to doubt my source, a mate of Peters. Unless he's been given a hike in wages I would doubt the accuracy of your statement, mate. "CORNBEEF IS A BELLEND"

It's amazing how people know what people earn at Morton never mind other clubs, but then again maybe you are Peter's agent after all.

Aye I think they were put in digs together when Weatherson first signed and hated each other?
