vikingTON Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 ...is now 1015 minutes of league football without scoring a goal - stretching back to March 17th. Or if you prefer, 16 hours and 55 minutes. The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before.. So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are
Nickaton Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 he is back in his comfort zone, cause he's on a 3 year deal.
Dom_Dom Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 It's easy enough to pin the blame on him, but really, we drop him and bring on another striker that isn't good enough. I suppose it's no worse than what Weatherson himself is doing, but Alan Moore had better recognize that what we have isn't good enough. If he seriously thinks that just "trying to get the best out of them" is going to work then is the way forward then we are in for an even worse season than last. : )
TaunTon Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 None of the current batch look likely to score 10 goals in a season which makes me wonder why we've just signed another defender. I'd be grateful if anyone could shed some light on Moore's thinking.
Bryan Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 ...is now 1015 minutes of league football without scoring a goal - stretching back to March 17th. Or if you prefer, 16 hours and 55 minutes. He was injured from late March and yet played as Grady asked him too. "Boy, I got vision, and the rest of the world wears bifocals."
IainMorton Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 Did he take the huff today, and last week, at getting subbed? That's twice now he has been applauded off the park by the fans and he didn't respond. Next time the fans shouldn't bother. <_>

Next time the fans shouldn't bother. <_> He didn't shake Kelbie's hand as he was replaced either, not good enough. What is clear though is that he offers far more to the game than Kean or Kelbie who might try harder but in the end just aren't as good. Difficult situation because the guy needs to be dropped. The only option I can see at the moment is Brian Graham but that would leave him up front with one of the afore-mentioned diddies. Peter Weatherson is the greatest player since Ritchie, and should be assigned 'chairman for life'
gorkir Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 he is back in his comfort zone, cause he's on a 3 year deal. Thats sounds like king peter
axeman Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 Peter will maybe head back into Sports Direct & try & get a refund on his boots like he attempted to do with those green & red things from last season. Yeah like it was all the fault of the boots he didn't score many. I'd love to have you both for dinner

But we don't have anyone better They're all jealous because I conquered my paranoia

midTONs Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 It's now 3 yrs now since I first said Peter should move on, I haven't changed my mind.
rex manning Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 He is unfit. He's not suddenly sh1t. Grady had him hobbling about at the end of last season when he was quite clearly injured (not bad mouthing Grady as i thought we needed him playing aswel) but he simply doesnt look like hes managed to get back to fitness over the summer. I think Moores having the same issue as Grady in that although not fit he is the best striker at the club and we dont have a viable option to replace him with. The international break may have come at a really good time for us. I want a pretentious signature too.

mortonfc123 Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 i couldn't make this any clearer, get weatherson to ****. his attitude is all wrong, he didn't even applaud the fans either. and just to top it of when he was subbed he didn't even go over to kelbie and wish him luck and shake his hand. weatherson is the problem. all this pish about he is our best striker, he has to play is absolute s***e. hes a non-tryer. the only way forward is to get rid of him. hes finished and only cares about the moneys hes getting and not the club which is wrong.
midTONs Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 I'm with penguin boy on this one ..... TonInDublin I'll make a deal with you, I'll get rid of the penguins if you get rid of my 10% warning, if not I might be forced to changed the avatar to a penguin as well, Jesus wont be happy with you.

I wont defend his failure to acknowledge the fans but maybe the fact he was so pissed about being subbed shows that he actually does care eh? I also take issue with fans claiming a player isnt trying, i refuse to believe any player who runs out for morton doesnt try. So who is our best striker and who should play instead of him? please back this up with some kind of evidence. I want a pretentious signature too.

Naive or what I know from speaking to an ex-player at another club that players will go through the motions with the express intention of making a point eg getting a transfer, getting a manager the bullet etc. It happens at all levels in the game and having watched the Morton team over recent years we have had our fair share of self-important chancers.
rex manning Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 I think its pretty daft to presume that any of the current players are dumb enough to play badly to attempt to get rid of Moore (a manager Dougies been after for ages) or to get a transfer (look how pish i am come and buy me). Past morton teams you may have a point, currently, no. I want a pretentious signature too.
