vikingTON Posted July 29, 2010 Author Posted July 29, 2010 Who here is actually 'hating' Greacen though? He comes across as an excellent professional but there are entirely reasonable doubts about his suitability. We had the worst defensive record in Scotland last season, Stewart was not personally responsible but was at times part of the problem. And on the ball he hasn't yet shown the comfortability we're looking for. The experienced head idea worked in Irons' full season but we had Greacen and McManus chucking the goals in at the start of last season. The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before.. So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are
GMFC14 Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 Thats exactly what Higdon did to Evans on Tuesday night Exactly what junior mendes done to greacen in the Ayr Utd game at cappielow...........
GMFC14 Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 1. Tackling's not really anything to do with passing the ball? On his games he's solid and hard to beat in the air and on the ground so if he does stuggle to stay on his feet but wins the ball its not that much of a problem. 2. I don't think any professional player is that bad - especially one who has perfomed well in the first division in the past. 3. As EanieMeanie said the hasn't been many options for him to pass to in his career here and the right pass/ when to play it isn't just a skill - it varies depending on manager and style so this will be done at training. I really don't think Greacen is as bad as some on here make out and think he will could work well as the big strong baller winner next to a guy whos a bit better on the ball. Time will tell if he's good enough but I would like to see him given a chance as he deserves it on his attitude alone over his time at the club. He can be as solid as he likes, but until he learns how to defend he aint much use. Hes a bombscare, doesnt know when to go for a ball and when to stand off, dives in too many times for my liking and shows poor intelligence on the park. As for never having an option to pass, never think it may be down to his inability to pass that he just lumps the ball up the park? I have serious doubts about Greacens footballing ability, just because hes big and strong doesnt make him a good centre half.

A bit more Paolo Maldini given Davie can play anywhere across the back. FIRST DIVISION RUNNERS UP 2012/13 Hey Man - Enough of your Stupidness
