  1. Past hour
  2. SNP's Power-sharing agreement with the Green Party Wierdos is over. Fucking marvellous. Next.
  3. Today
  4. That would be a major kick in the stones if Oakley goes there. You would assume it will be a 2 year deal and more money than we are offering. Although, I do agree with a few in the sense I think he would be playing second fiddle to Graham who unfortunately is still a pain in the arse to play against at this level. Fingers crossed that would be enough to put him off. Get the cheque book out and sign him up Morton..
  5. Strapp and Oakley are the only two players that I'd be willing to offer wage increases to in order to get them signed up for next season.
  6. Jesus, George Oakley in a Partick shirt is the stuff of nightmares. Throw every penny we can afford at him, would be a huge miss.
  7. Yesterday
  8. 15 goals though; im sure he fancies another crack. Even 10 accounting for age is about as good as we get
  9. I'm not sure mate. Very few players a few months short of their 37th birthday have another full season left starting as a main striker most weeks. I think Graham will be a much depleted force next season.
  10. That lanky dick Graham has at least another season or two in him. Speculate to accumulate and get him signed. No fucking around
  11. I think it could be the other way around with Graham approaching 37. If its purely down to wages I'd like to think we could keep him for the sake of a couple of hundred quid a week, especially with the supposed increased budget.
  12. The wages will almost certainly be significantly better, but hopefully his quotes in the tele keep him grounded.
  13. Partick have apparently offered a deal to Gorgeous George. I'd assume this will be to serve as backup to Brian Graham, so hopefully it's not enough to entice him to that lot.
  14. If Oakley gets a top flight offer it's going to be as cover, and more likely to be for a St Johnstone level side if they were to stay up than Dundee United who will be believing they should push straight for the top six (and likely failing miserably). I'm less concerned about that because Oakley seems to be really enjoying being one of the first names on the teamsheet and after how his time at Inverness ended probably isn't going to give that up lightly, unless he has stupid money thrown at him. The bigger worry is another Championship side viewing him as an upgrade on their starting XI and being able to tell him he's coming in as first choice, which Partick and Raith probably won't but everyone else could, and we're simply not going to compete with Dunfermline or Falkirk on wages.
  15. While I rate Oakley highly, DU signed Grimmy after they came down. I don't think they'd sign Oakley, at least not as a starting XI player, now that they're going back up.
  16. Last week
  17. Wouldn't be surprised if he went to Dundee United next season after he sworded them this season. They have previous on us by signing Grimmy last year. Prefer it if he didn't go anywhere though.
  18. We do not deserve the play-offs this season. As others have highlighted the one unbeaten spell papered over the shortcomings in the squad and the relatively brutal football on offer. For me the experienced pros did not stand up when some of our key players were unavailable and sadly our bench rarely took their opportunity to shine. All in all a very frustrating and disappointing season.
  19. Be interesting to see how Jordan Davies hits the ground he scored goals for fun albeit at a lower level it's quite unusual for us recently to sign a guy from outwith Scotland wonder how he will make the step up, you can't imagine he will be coming to warm a bench and where he fits in and the sort of system which Imrie adopts next season. Will it be more of the same long ball to Oakley or another such as Bird or more of a keep possession and look for runners from midfield or out wide etc. Personally I would like us to run with a young squad with a few experienced pros and take it from there the loan market also needs to be used a lot more even for more depth but again it all depends on budget exciting to see what changes will be made. As long as we don't see an Oakley or Strapp moving to like a Falkirk, I know Partick apparently liked the look of Oakley from what I have heard also.
  20. I'm not convinced by that to be honest, Raith have been struggling in recent weeks and look as if the wheels have fallen off.
  21. It's dull and unremarkable, we haven't really lost or gained anything. Basically back to exactly where we were last summer. We'll finish above where we had budgeted for and comfortably in the black come summer to do it all again next season, hopefully with some lessons learned particularly in the recruitment side of things. Trying to stay positive, I'd have bitten your hand off for this in November but it's just so frustrating and we are where we deserve to be. Improvements needed before August.
  22. I think Raith will come down looking to play well and give them some momentum going into the playoffs. Their players will be playing to ensure they are in the starting 11 for those games. Think it will be about 3 weeks before their semi final so can't see them resting loads of key players etc unless they have niggles whereas I'd imagine most of our lot will be thinking about their summer holidays. A good few will know they aren't getting new contracts either. Comfortable away win for me. Raith -1 is nearly 4/1...
  23. Whether we like it or not, we don't deserve the playoffs. While our form fell off a cliff after Oakley's injury, Airdrie have hit excellent form (Saturday aside). They've taken 20 points from 10 games, whilst we've won 8 points in the same period (only Arbroath took less points in that period). We could feel aggrieved last year, missing out by a single goal is unfortunate, but this season we can't make the same claim.
  24. Yeah, it's easy to get sucked into the 16 game unbeaten run and think we were actually brilliant for half a season, but in reality breaking it down to the league we were brilliant for a third of it and appalling for two thirds. You don't deserve the playoffs if you're that bad for that long, and that we were in title winning form for a third of the season and have still ended up miles off the playoffs shows how dependent we've been on a few individuals to raise the level of the players around them in that run. There are some players who've played less in the two bad runs and were nearly ever present when we were good, along with others whose performances haven't really dipped in the bad runs compared to the great December-February run, but ultimately what having a dreadful two thirds of the season means is that there are several players who've had far more bad games than good ones over the season. Last season we had more than XI players who had far more good games than bad, this time that hasn't been the case for a comfortable majority of the squad and that's why we've regressed overall. The out of contract cohort of that underperforming group should be getting moved on if we want to improve next season.
  25. I really liked Imries post match interview you could tell he was hurting but wanted to push on for next season. I don't know if I agree with the statement of the players deserve the playoffs considering how patchy our form has been for most of the season, if we want to complete next year and challenge for the playoffs we need a lot more depth and that means spending more which will be difficult to do with such a competitive league. Wouldn't say we need a complete rebuilding job but I imagine there will be quite a bit of movement in the squad.
  26. Saturdays game is gonna be a stereotypical end of season show. Two teams with very little to play for, bar contract renewals. It'll either be a great game of flowing football, or a shitshow of cannabearseddom.
  27. Saturday just about sums up the season for me, the odd flashes of quality and signs of what could've been but ultimately just doing enough to not be worse than the bottom teams. I'd assume Dougie has probably already decided who's getting a new deal by now. As has been said, there are a lot of players who we should be thanking for getting the job done and moving them on. His post-match interview on Saturday about aiming higher than mid-table security suggests there will be a bit of a rebuild this summer which is definitely needed to avoid stagnating further.
