  1. This is really great news! Actually found out with STV News on in the background earlier and the club badge came up on screen, wasn't expecting this so soon after the last update! I think this could genuinely be the best news many Morton fans have had in a long time. We've witnessed quite a few false dawns as a support over the last 20 years since Douglas Rae stepped in to save the Club; with some fleeting moments of joy along the way of course. More than a few charlatans coming in and offering their expertise for hire but ultimately being chancers only interested in their own advancement. Hopefully no more. It has felt like hundreds, if not thousands, of floating fans had gone for good. After being let down time and time again. I really hope that, despite the very uneven performances lately that things can improve and that, whatever the weather, we can get in a good crowd for Arbroath on Saturday. Like a fair few other folk, I had been very reluctant up until now to join, but I have happily signed up for MCT tonight. I don't think anybody is expecting miracles overnight, but with good people using their skills, for the most part voluntarily and with just a sincere interest in doing right by Morton as their motivation, surely we can have real cause for optimism. Hopefully the start of something special. Well done to everybody who has worked so hard to inch this closer and closer to fruition. C'mon the Ton!
  2. Been listening to quite a bit of Paul Weller lately, hoping to go along and see him at Edinburgh Castle in July! Wild Wood and Stanley Road are favourites. Maybe a wee bit unusual, but I've been listening to Hugh Laurie's new album, Didn't It Rain over the last few days. Thoroughly enjoyed the first release and love his passion for the genre he's covering, really comes over. He's got a decent singing voice and there's a few interesting guest vocalists.
  3. Bruce Springsteen & E Street Band - Wrecking Ball Doves - Lost Souls Doves - The Last Broadcast Doves - Some Cities Doves - Kingdom of Rust Hadn't listened to any Doves album in well over a year, having them all there on Spotify helps!
  4. Gene - Olympian Blur - Think Tank The Clash - London Calling
  5. Dropkick Murphys - Live On St Patrick's Day, Boston Bought this a while back, awesome energy, always liked the song Shipping Out To Boston and the early albums. Liked what I've heard of the recent stuff. Going to see them for the first time in February, pure cannae wait!
  6. Oh, I know your fanatical Shaun, more than me for sure! I think Frusciante's absence is very noticeable, sceptical about the new guy myself, but I like the direction their taking. Doesn't feel samey like a lot of bands who are kicking on a bit sound. I've been reading bits and pieces over the last week and Flea reckons they've discovered a new energy which I actually think comes across on the album, no songs that feel iconic, standout your right, give it time though. But some amazing tracks. They may be entering their 50s, but these guys keep super fit and I've got a feeling the live dates are going to be pretty special, roll on the SECC in November!
  7. Red Hot Chili Peppers - I'm With You Not their best album, but very enjoyable, energetic, better than a lot of what was on either disc of Stadium Arcadium!
  8. Bon Iver - Bon Iver Arcade Fire - Funeral Arcade Fire - Neon Bible Arcade Fire - The Suburbs Going to see Arcade Fire in a few weeks!
  9. Just making playlists on iTunes this evening, had The XX album on before that. Few hadn't heard in a while Oasis - She's Electric (Live) Bowie - Rebel Rebel (Reality Tour Live) The Cars - Drive Van Morrison - Bright Side of the Road The South Bank Show Theme. Tremendous track, think it's on YouTube somewhere! Pet Shop Boys - Suburbia
  10. Foo Fighters - Wasting Light Cast - All Change
  11. Been listening to a lot of them myself, sad to hear he'd passed away earlier. Lucky enough to have had the chance to see him play with them a few times. Never got chance to see Federeci as part of E Street before his passing unfortunately.
  12. Hugh Laurie - Let Them Talk Fleet Foxes - Helplessness Blues
  13. Maybe the reissue? I was listening to that last year at one point, remember the band from when I was younger, but like yourself forgot how good they were. I saw Skin at T in 2003, first act at noon on the Saturday, and her set was pretty good, did a few Skunk numbers, four or five rows of fans going nuts at the front, everyone else sitting down! Been listening to The Suburbs by Arcade Fire a fair bit this week, doesn't get boring, can't wait to see them live again. Looking forward to listening to the new Radiohead before heading to the match on Saturday!
  14. Manic Street Preachers - Postcards From A Young Man Really enjoying this album, feels like listening to their stuff from the 90s!
