Not really trying to defend him, just that there were other guilty parties involved too, not just him.

It reminds me of the blame O'Ware got for his misplaced pass at Firhill six years ago.

Was he not placed at left back which is a fault of Moore.

Absolute must win tonight. I'd much rather go into Saturday with a win tonight. Falkirk will be confident.

I think Falkirk will

Be relishing us coming. We are in free fall and there is the potential of 5000 at the game as they are marketing it strong along with £10 entry.

They absolutely will. Even in a relegation fight they're showing why they're streets ahead of us off the park. That togetherness could be enough to pull them through.

Very good marketing and commercial acumen by them. Something we have never had under the Rae’s.

Probably a minor detail in the grand scheme, but I can't help feeling it says a lot about Crawford Rae's attitude towards the fans that the whole "together" thing disappeared so quickly as soon as the sham three year plan was shown up for the bollocks it was.

Or when helps dad's health deteriorated much more quickly then he expected and he died soon after.

Contingency is one of the biggest aspect of a business.....

I don't quite get this. What we did is what most businesses do, i.e. put out the most positive message until the worst case scenario (or at least a negative scenario) happens - and then come the cuts.

Am I missing something here?

Well, essentially what Crawford is saying is that they didn't know what would happen with Dougie's share of GC? It transpires that it has been divided up between family who don't want much, if any, involvement with Morton and bank-rolling us. Absolutely fair enough and that's their prerogative, but it strikes me as poor planning/opening mouths too soon when it came to the 3 year plan.

I think that the truth lies somewhere in that Crawford isn't really interested in Morton - never has been as has been rumoured for years - but didn't want to come out in the immediate aftermath of his dad's passing and say that.

Likely caught up in the heat of the moment.

TIME FOR CHANGE!

Even if he did know, why not still initiate a three year plan? He seemed to expect his father to live that long, and it did seem to get fans enthusiastic. You can call that a risk which didn't pay off, and it certainly didn't. It's fair enough to criticise the plan, but I don't think it needs to be a case of not planning ahead. This feels very much like the plan b (sustainability and youth, however wise that might be) that we've been talking about for years.

I think he probably knew but it seems to me what they didn't anticipate was Dougie dying weeks after stepping down and having to deal with it so soon.

That would explain the three year plan where they could take more of a gamble with investment being offset against GC since Dougie supported that approach while looking at how things would be managed longer term when the shares did change.

I guess you could argue that they should have considered the possibility of his death but we don't know what they've been told by doctors about his health, etc.

If Crawford had said "Here's a plan that's contingent on my 87 year old Dad staying alive for 3 years, but when he dies the game's a bogey", how many people would have coughed up for a season ticket?

It might sound brutally callous, but the idea of Rae Snr lasting 3 years at the time was hardly a safe bet in the summer and hasn't been for several years.

He was still working and no one knows what his health was like. I'm sure they considered it could happen in less than three years but not a matter of weeks.
