BetBrennan is offering even money on a Stewart Duncan 'storming off the Forum in a tantrum' special this weekend. Bet open to all BetBrennan customers. Use promotion code '9Strathblane'.

I'll have some of that, Bishop.

What odds would you give us on tomorrow's Halftime results, Len?

It matters whether or not it was one of those two. If it didn't matter, you wouldn't have specified that it was. So can you confirm that it was one of those two who said it? You don't have to say which it was - just that it was either Crawford or DDF who said that the former pressured the latter not to clear all of the debt.

It was one of the two who said it.

Stating over and over again that something is a fact only works if you provide some evidence to prove it’s fact. Provide some.

It's impossible to provide evidence of the spoken word unless you were recording the person which I obviously wasn't. But as I said I wasn't alone when the comment was made.

I don’t know if this was the same conversation/context but I remember a discussion roughly along these lines (not the ‘pressure’ part) centred on the GC balance sheet. That keeping the debt on the books was less about seeking its recovery eg in a sale and more about protecting GC’s balance sheet by not writing off a large asset in one go. That was a long time ago, and I’ve no idea if that was the dominant thinking then or just a view or if/how thinking has changed since.

*Your Grace.

BetBrennan will not be offering odds on such a one sided contest. We're a bookmaker, not an ATM.

You address me by my proper title, you little bollocks!

Following up on this: I *think* that’s what’s being referred to much more recently, here, when Crawford says GC have been advised to keep the loan in the accounts:

Funnily enough, I think that some people hitting the refresh button obsessively is a bit like an ATM.

  • 1 month later...

Just got in from work there and found the accounts on my doorstep with notice of the AGM.

7pm on the 26th March. Forty five minutes before the biggest football match this country has seen since 2007 kicks off. Am I just a cynic or is that a bit of a dick move?

That's abysmal from Morton. Whether deliberate or accidental, the AGM should not be happening on that date.

wow that is absolutely shocking.  I hate to say it but that's the sort of move that you would expect from rangers

Wow!  It can only be down to one of two reasons:

1 whoever organised it for that time and date has absolutely no clue about the Scotland game and no one within the club has picked up on it, which for a professional Scottish football club, is a massive riddy or:

2 as alluded to above, they want to limit the number of shareholders attending which is unbelievably suspect and downright corwardly!

here today, gone to hell

Maybe they just couldn’t give a toss about some ridiculous international fixture and Hamish Husband’s new, shan ‘rallying point’ now that the Iron Horse is shut.

If so, a correct choice of priorities IMO.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

Well, there’s no Scotland game now but I suspect they’ll use the virus as an excuse to keep people away.

The responsible thing to do would be to rearrange the AGM. Even if they expect a low attendance, isn't the room so small that the six-foot suggested distancing would be nigh-on impossible?

I would even suggest doing it via conference call but there is less than a 2% chance they could pull that off without fucking it up, so they have to delay it.
