AyrshireTon
Really lucky to get to the break at 0-0. Despite having the best chance of the game we’ve been poor all over and they’ve been miles quicker. Pitch is in a right state too. McGhee needs some support, there's no-one backing him up. Hayes playing it forward, Bell being forced to do it all alone, now forward from Marr, here's Ritchie, still Andy Ritchie, look at the control... That is a marvellous goal from Andy Ritchie. Twenty minutes on the clock and Morton's supporters come alive. A goal which epitomises the control, the arrogance, the cheek of Andy Ritchie. Malt
I would get McKeown off. Awful performance. Move Iredale to left back where he has excelled and look to get Tiffoney on as the left mid or switch McLean to left and get Telfar on. We have little up front. Johnstone is trying to hold the ball up but McHugh adds nothing. Like I have said, we do not have a credible option to support Denny up top. We signed Bell and not seen him. GiGi
Telfer or Oliver on for McHugh would be good here. Peter Weatherson is the greatest player since Ritchie, and should be assigned 'chairman for life'
SpoonTon
As poor as that was generally, we've defended well and they've not tested Scully (while Robinson had to make a very good save). Iredale looks very uncomfortable at left mid. The front two are a bit detached. I'd like to see Telfer or Oliver come on for McHugh. Not sure what to do with the left hand side though. dunning1874
This has been dreadful. Buchanan's performance has been the only positive, but if we had a midfield he wouldn't have been forced to make excellent last ditch tackles and blocks in the first place. We're so lacking in organisation and imagination, that 45 minutes was like watching us under Grady. There's not a single midfielder in this squad who's suited to playing in a flat four. 4-4-2 needs to get in the bin, now. Telfer for McHugh and 4-3-3 is such an obvious swap that can bring the best out of Tidser, give some protection to the defence and some real support to Johnstone. vikingTON
When your wide options are terrible the solution is straightforward - play a system that only requires two of them. 3-5-2 is the best fit for the squad and can get Telfer into the middle of the park where he belongs. A new manager needs time to fully work things out but doing this and jettisoning McHugh into the sea must happen sooner rather than later. The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before.. So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are
port-ton
Players are playing like they play for Falkirk as well.
