Pre Season Tours and Fixtures

All of the above is speculation at this point, but it'd certainly be helpful for the club to issue some kind of statement soon outlining what they're up to and what the general plan is given there's been a change in CEO and, it seems, operating strategy.

Now that the League Cup fixtures have been set out, we have a free Saturday date for a game on 13 July, while most of the boring league teams that GMFC would love to arrange a friendly with are in action. Nothing too strenuous is advisable given we'd have Dumbarton on the Tuesday evening - just some diddy team to stick a few goals past and gain confidence before the season kicks off.

Announce Campbeltown away.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

No doubt they will now announce Beith at home

I think that Fort William would be a good day out. We'd absolutely pump them rotten too.

Fort is a bin and they are barely able to raise 11 players, much less any that would give the team a workout. I get that people want a good place to go, but it needs to be a worthwhile match as well.

The park most definitely isn't though.

We already have snore-inducing 'good workouts' arranged before that weekend and then proper games against Dumbarton and Motherwell in the six days afterwards. So what we actually need between them is a confidence-boosting shooty-in against some duds, where we rotate our team at half time and score a further double figures in the second half as well.

The aforementioned Fort William, Oban Saints or Lochgilphead Red Star would all be acceptable alternatives.

It's a good trip.

The one which I've seen lots of other clubs do in the past and I've been envious is the Oban tournament:

Oban is a great weekend.

I saw us in a pre-season game at Fort William in 2002 and it was a bit shit. Admittedly it was midweek and I was with Gerry though.

Craig Coyle bought us a pint, which was good of him.

Being selfish, someone like Nairn that I haven't been to would be good.

Lochgilphead is an absolute coup full of mutants, as glorious as their team name is.

You address me by my proper title, you little bollocks!

Yes because what we're really looking for in an away day is a genteel environment full of Peroni-swilling wankers. Greenock Wanderers it is then.
