Good for Partick Thistle. Maybe for their next trick they'll tackle the rampant sectarianism that's prevalent in their rancid support instead of completely ignoring it and kidding on it doesn't exist.

Let's be honest here, it's a cheap way for them to get some free publicity by piggy-backing a campaign which is a hot topic atm. It's nothing more and is much in keeping with a lot of companies atm. All over it like a tramp on chips.

People that think they're doing it for anything other than "look at us" and free publicity are mugs.

Morton would kill for the publicity Partick have been able to generate for themselves the past few years.

Good people will do good things, bad people will do bad things, but only with religion do good people do bad things!

So says our very own Manpreet.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

I don't think they would. If that was the case, surely they'd employ someone who's an expert in marketing and go out and seek such opportunities instead of sitting on their hands, pleading poverty and putting the begging bowl out every so often to guilt trip us into parting with our cash.

You'd know absolutely nothing about what it's like to be known as an infamous, bitter and pathetic member of the online football community of course.

I didn't mean that the Morton board would kill for the publicity as they clearly wouldn't. Morton as a club would though.

Fans on here have cried out for years that we get no publicity, and some of the scraps of publicity we've had in recent years that fans have been happy about are nothing compared to what Partick have got by thinking outside the box and pandering to the media. That's exactly what all clubs our size should be doing as no one is going to knock down our door looking to publicise Morton.

Enough of this throwing logic in the face of my bitter resentment.

I don't disagree, and it's something I've bemoaned on here for years, although I would argue that their location lends them to that sort of publicity- third biggest club in the big city, just down the road from the old BBC HQ, great Glasgow alternative, birthday caird pish. They clearly have been far more pro-active than us in all my time supporting Morton, and maybe I'm just a thick old bigot by questioning the motives of this one, but if it was any other club than them or Celtic I doubt I'd bat an eyelid.

That's a club that's swept their sectarianism problem under the carpet whilst looking to portray themselves as a lovable, inclusive cuddly toy, which is so far removed from reality it's unreal.

Whilst our own failings aren't to be forgotten about, I'm afraid I'll not be patting Partick fucking Thistle on the back for being opportunist, rather than inclusive.

"Partick Thistle is one club open to all, we will not accept discrimination in any form and I sincerely hope that this shows that. Football can be such a wonderful universal language that can help bridge all sorts of divides, both large and small."

Rather than that laughable assessment of ‘infamy’, Manpreet is in fact just some attention-seeking loser who hitches his wagon to a football club in whatever cringeworthy form that he can find. For example, Manpreet crowdfunds shan banners to celebrate the rivalry between Partick and Clyde; you organise a shan celebration day for a mercenary using the wrong country as your theme.

Two peas in the same pod then; gutted for you.

Publicity in and of itself means relatively little. Unless it translates into something tangible, it's pretty meaningless. So, do we know if Thistle's publicity results in better sponsorship deals? I'd imagine their mascot frenzy did have such an effect, but without their accounts it's hard to be sure. Will this kit result in the same? Will they be able to afford a better class of player accordingly? Are foreign players more apt to sign for them, coz at least they've (maybe) heard of them?

All questions I don't know the answer to.

If there was one club that you would expect to do this kind of publicity-seeking stunt in Scotland, it was bound to be Partick Thistle. Let's face it, they are the club that due to their location in Glasgow's supposedly 'Trendy' West End and their Media-Luvvies/Students/Cosmopolitan status, have always had that stigma about them of being a club for gay males. They won't be ever considered a proper club like the Lanarkshire/Renfrewshire/Fife/Ayrshire clubs or, dare I say it, even the Old Firm, and it's down to the type of people they seem to attract as supporters.

They attract all the wierdo's under the sun, whether it's oddball schoolteachers, young guys who are more camp than Simon from Eastenders, Pot noodle munching studenty types with the physical attributes of Junkies and the manky T shirts to match, wankers with Kelvinside accents, or all of the above.

Rainbow flagging it up is their natural territory. Just like the PLO flag is the Green Brigades. When I saw 'Whitehawk' of Brighton in an early FA Cup round a few months back with their Rainbow Flags and their bentshot supporters going about how 'All inclusive' they were, I knew that it was only a matter of time before a Scottish club done the same, and I could have bet my eye teeth that it would be the cuddly toy that is Partick Thistle.

Thank fuck Morton aren't involved in that shite.

Incidentally, Whitehawk was the club whose supporters were harassing the chap Gordon Hill due to his physical appearance, and who would go on to challenge them to a square go. That guy became an internet celebrity 'The Wealdstone Raider'.

All inclusive my arse. Another wannabe cuddly toy club from the ashtray leagues of English football.
