Morton VS Dundee United - Saturday 8 December

Well, the second half was an improvement - a bit of fight at least. Nice assist from their keeper.

Was the offside goal going in before the final touch?

McGhee needs some support, there's no-one backing him up.
Hayes playing it forward, Bell being forced to do it all alone, now forward from Marr, here's Ritchie, still Andy Ritchie, look at the control...

That is a marvellous goal from Andy Ritchie. Twenty minutes on the clock and Morton's supporters come alive. A goal which epitomises the control, the arrogance, the cheek of Andy Ritchie.

Not much to add other than the cowardice shown by JJ towards the end of the match by refusing to commit Buchanan forward for our late corners. We're at home to a s*** United side, not the 1980s version.

Buchanan picked up a knock late on. My take on it was that he didn't want to go up for them, and that's what that was about.

Millar shaking his head in disgust at the change in formation when McHugh came on. All is well.

Millar getting the Man of the Match from the sponsors today was surely a wind-up?!

Not many covered themselves in glory, but Millar and Tidser, the heart of our team, looked painfully slow...

One of the highlights of the day for me was Chris Millar's reaction when one of the subs came on towards the end and told him he was to move to the right wing. Never seen someone look so dispondant at a managers tactical switch

Good people will do good things, bad people will do bad things, but only with religion do good people do bad things!

‘Dr. Z’ still trembling with rage after seeing his latest surefire Dundee United/Falkirk coupon go up in smoke - absolute NAP.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

Don’t talk shite, Millar ran himself ragged covering every blade of grass, winning back the ball numerous times and kept possession well, probably my motm as well.

Seriously? Millar had a shocker of a first half, hit several terrible passes... one in particular could have led to a Utd goal, left us 3 v 2. One of our major problems is that neither Tidser or Millar have any pace, our whole game is pedestrian because the heart of our team is slow.

At least the reaction of the guys around me (they burst out laughing) when Millar was announced as MoM, backed up my thoughts.

For what it's worth, I thought Buchanan was our MoM by some distance.

Someone behind me said Tidser has always been shite.

A high percentage of Morton fans are retarded.

‘Our whole game is pedestrian because our central midfielders are slow’ is up there with the stupidest claims made in Zhivago’s long history of getting owned on this site. Central midfielders simply don’t rampage from box to box on a regular basis in any team at this level - the ball does the majority of the movement in that position, not the players. A team can play a high tempo style by moving the ball on quickly with a couple of touches. You only need to look at the number of outstanding central midfielders who weren’t outstanding athletes - Xavi, Iniesta, Pirlo (who actually got better in his mid thirties despite losing any pace that he had) to confirm that it’s not actually a position where being an athletic freakshow trumps technical ability. At least in a team that has a coherent game plan, which is where the problem lies at the moment.

Stick to watching fourth tier egg-chasers get horsed in front of you and your dug.

Maybe because the only people who would stand near you are also bumpers.

Wow, to be defensive based on the skills of the players you’ve quoted is a stretch. We are generally pedestrian.

We are pedestrian throughout the team... it's one of the reasons we're struggling.

I'll stick to my opinion that you can't have two players like Millar and Tidser in central midfield. I commented on Millar as I thought it was a joke that he'd got MoM, but Tidser looked miles off the pace at times today, a poor game by his standards.

Millar was immense. This is another top notch wind up.
