  1. A step in the right direction but still tone deaf to many fans in Inverclyde who are experiencing a cost of living crisis. I remain to be convinced this is the right message to be sending out for a fan owned club. Just seen the event is now no longer black tie. I can only assume the pushback to the original proposal has required a response.
  2. If I remember rightly Imrie has previously commented he did try to get a couple of players in on loan but others were able and willing to offer/contribute more than Morton.
  3. The pricing is out-with the reach of most 'ordinary' fans especially for those that require to hire for a black tie event. Fair enough if you are targeting a 'commercial' market but an end of year awards event should be for all.
  4. For all the acclaim the team received for the unbeaten run they have to accept the subsequent drop off in form has been unacceptable. What is most disappointing is the lack of leadership from the senior pros and the inability of players given more game time to take the opportunity. McGrattan is rightly singled out. I had high hopes the boy would kick on this season but watching him in recent weeks he is going through the motions. He was clearly not alone today and I hope this is taken into account when we look at which members of the squad we look to retain next season. This team has a soft centre and seem unable to overcome adversity such as conceding the first goal. Once again we are in danger of a season which offered so much promise petering out. The dream of third place now looks like a delusion.
  5. For a while under HS we were a basket case. Current governance has to some degree got lucky with the cup draws and support of main sponsors but nonetheless they deserve huge credit when you understand the shambles they inherited.
  6. I understand your position and think integration into your new life is a real positive but you acknowledge you still 'feel' Scottish.
  7. I really don't get how you cannot feel 'Scottish' anymore.
  8. That was grim and you have to say the majority of the blame lies with the manager. The same starting 11 and offering up French in centre mid was baffling. Nothing worked for us today. The players have been excellent over recent months but no-one aside from the subs get pass marks. We deserved nothing from this game. Going from famine to feast and back to famine again is a hard watch.
  9. Just made it home and maybe I am in the minority but I thought we missed an opportunity tonight. Yes we were up against it with our injury list but Hearts were no great shakes and when we got in their faces at the beginning of the second half they were rattled. I am not suggesting we should have chased the game afterwards but when players were out on their feet and your only sub is a full back I was surprised. I appreciate Imrie does not trust the boys on the bench but surely one of them was a better option than throwing Broadfoot up top. I know some don't like it but I love having a big away support as it creates a better atmosphere. Sadly though the basic infrastructure at Cappielow continues to let us down. A lot of fans missed the start of the game, yet again, as the scanners did not work (I am reliably informed it was the same for the Hearts support). As for the food offering in the Sinclair Street... Well done to everyone for a great cup run this year but any chance we could get to see a Morton goal again?
  10. The unbeaten run was always going to come to an end but the last three performances have been grim. Without Oakley we have nothing up top and until he returns we just do not look like scoring. The excitement for the Hearts game is now turning to hoping we do not get turned over in front of the cameras. No idea how Imrie turns this round but we have to keep believing.
  11. DOT cementing his place as the bellend of this forum. In truth, he comes across as a Latte drinking pompous luvvie hence you wonder why he is not a bolt on to be a regular at Firhill.
  12. It had to end at some point but we could have at least put up a fight. The injuries gave those normally on the bench the opportunity to step up and make a claim to be starting but sadly they fluffed their lines. Memories of our start to the season came flooding back. Hopefully with the fans support we can bounce back quickly.
  13. Kirkcaldy has had a lot of new housing and benefits from being within commuting territory for Edinburgh. It is still a pigsty but one where the local football team have had success in increasing their fanbase.
  14. Inverclyde is an area struggling in many ways and encouraging new fans along is a major challenge. I have always believed success on the park is the most important factor. I am not sure how much more the Club can do but that does not mean it should not try. At least, at the moment, there appears to be momentum to ensure GMFC is central in the community and hopefully this will slowly result in improved attendances.
  15. Not sure Muirhead was unfit possibly still affected by the bug that meant he missed out on Saturday
