Morton vs Ross County

Smiths is in the middle of the town centre and is therefore an option for the vast majority of the fanbase. The rest can be catered for by having a two-bob ticket booth at the ground. It works perfectly fine for every other club at this level - and there's absolutely no explanation why '100 year old infrastructure' would stop it from working at Cappielow.

It takes some amount of blind faith to believe that GMFC and Iron Man are uniquely right in their solution, whereas the rest of Scottish football is wrong.

reverting to a ticket booth only would have been an even bigger mess. Fact.

I think you'll find that's called 'utter pish'. Selling tickets in Smiths and at the ground wouldn't have been as much of a mess as the back of a fag packet entry system that the club used for several months last season, relying on some Scouse gimp with a clipboard to swan up and sort out his shan ticketing system, or waiting all day as some old biddies try to use their Tesco Clubcard to get into the ground.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

I'd have gone into Smiths to secure a match day ticket from there - which is exactly what I have been doing since the shan turnstiles were brought in anyway.

Queen of the South use a ticket booth to deal with the issues of having money handled at the gate and big bad people buying concession tickets. As do Raith Rovers, Inverness etc. as well. It is by the most straightforward and cost-effective solution to a largely overstated problem. Absolutely none of the clubs who have operated at or near our level in recent years have chosen to spunk a six figure sum on a white elephant project for this reason. That, and the fact that the handful of turnstiles the club got in return for this 'investment' aren't even fit to deal with the demand of a big game.

The problem was overblown; the solution was terrible; the implementation was a shambles. Vintage GMFC decision-making then.

On the issue with Concessions...I walked into Smiths today and bought 3 concessions no qiestions asked, no student cards needed, the other 2 guys weren't even there. I don't have the same problem with the turnstiles as you do but they don't make being a concession any easier.

They will, however, provide lots of useful data - doubt we have much data analysis right enough.

So how do we line up tonight then?

                      Gaston

Tumilty Waddell Buchanan McKeown

         McAlister       Miller

                       Tidser

       Telfer                        Tiffoney

                       McHugh

Would go with that.

No doubt JJ will have Tidser sitting deeper though!

I do think it's mental that he persists with playing Tidser so deep. He was outstanding the first few games of the season playing further forward and back to his best.
