Betfred Cup Group Stage July 2019

Recommended Posts

Draw will be made tomorrow:

https://spfl.co.uk/news/betfred-cup-draw-on-tuesday

Ideal group:

Hearts

The Famous

Berwick

Albion Rovers

East Kilbride

A good away fixture for the opening day, a trip to Tynecastle with a decent chance of getting something (as despite Saturday's dogged display Hearts really are dung right now), plus a stack of permadiddies to make a minimum of nine points and progression a realistic expectation.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

Shouldn't we be writing this off as glorified friendlies to experiment with the new squad, try Tidser at left back etc? *

No. Only fucking rat snake bastards would be that fucking stupid.

I wonder if he will take the same approach with Falkirk?

They're not releasing details of the seeds and sections until the morning.

Gives Dumbarton less time to bump their gums again about being in the North section despite being further south than Greenock.

McGhee needs some support, there's no-one backing him up.
Hayes playing it forward, Bell being forced to do it all alone, now forward from Marr, here's Ritchie, still Andy Ritchie, look at the control...

That is a marvellous goal from Andy Ritchie. Twenty minutes on the clock and Morton's supporters come alive. A goal which epitomises the control, the arrogance, the cheek of Andy Ritchie.

Hearts will surely be in the North Section, so we’ll have the frankly appalling choices of Motherwell, Livingston, Hamilton & St Mirren as first seeds.

Brian Wake my Lord, Brian Wake

Brian Wake my Lord, Brian Wake

Brian Wake my Lord, Brian Wake

Oh Lord, Brian Wake

Falkirk are unseeded and in the south group with us. I'd settle for;

St Mirren

Morton

Falkirk

Dumbarton

East Kilbride

Good people will do good things, bad people will do bad things, but only with religion do good people do bad things!

Could do without Queen of the South or Falkirk, tbh.

Whilst Falkirk are an absolute gang atm, I’d rather have a collection of League Two teams and/or East Kilbride as the unseeded teams in the group.

Last year, having Ayr as an unseeded team who were on a high after just coming up really fucked up our chances of progression- there is of course the counter argument that McKinnon won’t bother with the cups again so soon after assembling a whole new squad, but I’d rather point and laugh at them from afar this season.

Aye agreed. Would rather avoid them and Queens.

Hamilton/Livvy/St Mirren will be much of a muchness but aye St Mirren would be good.

East Kilbride, Albion Rovers and Queens Park for me!
