It wasn’t particularly hard hit and Rogers looked to have it covered, but it went in anyway, Either he fluffed his dive or it hit a divot in the grassless goalmouth.

No excuses he had a Sh..e goalkeeper moment

As I said earlier thought he redeemed himself second half

When Strapp went off and knowing as Hopkin did that Millar was going off soon after, he wanted to keep Jim in middle, so there is only one option to go to left back and that is Nicky Cadden. He has experience of playing left wingback for Livvy and may have played left back in a back 4 too.

Putting Colville in there was utterly stupid and could be saisld to have cost us a win if it weren't for Mchughs penalty miss.

Since we have absolutely no cover at left back, Cadden has to play there since Jacobs going there will mean we have Millar and Mcalister in centre midfield again which is quite simply not an option anymore.

The mistake Colville made wasn't because he was out of position though. It was just poor from him.

We were right in line with the shot and he left the whole side of the goal open. Had time to take a couple of steps over and get it but seemed to just dive/ flop from where he was.

Could probably have moved over and stopped it with his feet there was that little pace in it though.

Colville (even before the switch) was atrocious today. Not exactly helped by his midfield granted, but that’s as bad as he’s played for us since arriving.

Aye, agreed. Millar didn't have the best of games again but at least got involved and had the odd decent touch where he settled the game down instead of the usual one hit long ball.

Thought McHugh played well but there was very little support from midfield at times.

Reading most people's opinion in the queen's first goal I thought it was a well placed strike and Rogers had no chance? Tumilty afforded him far too much space to cut inside.

Stuggle to see how that was Tumilty's fault, tbh. Even if he could have got a bit closer, if the full-back shows somebody inside at that point, there should be a couple of other players there to cover and crowd the attacker out. Regardless though, it should have been a simple save.

Need to see it again, but it's the kind of thing he won't be as used to playing further forward, ie facing play and ball hoofed at him. I thought a defensive player would have moved differently towards the ball. It was very poor from him regardless and I also agree that he was poor today all round. I imagine Orsi was coming on for him then strapp got injured.

That was quick.

McGhee needs some support, there's no-one backing him up.
Hayes playing it forward, Bell being forced to do it all alone, now forward from Marr, here's Ritchie, still Andy Ritchie, look at the control...

That is a marvellous goal from Andy Ritchie. Twenty minutes on the clock and Morton's supporters come alive. A goal which epitomises the control, the arrogance, the cheek of Andy Ritchie.

Far better once Millar went off. Orsi added something to our game. Colville struggled a bit but he had one ferocious strike that must have missed by inches. Mistake for their second when he seemed to get his boot stuck in the mud. Bob should be told not to put a second penalty the same way as a first one.

Should have won that but mistakes cost us 2 points. Dobbie is even more finished than Millar. I hope Hopkin learns lessons for the away game in 3 weeks.

Absolutely brutal. We’re a bit fortunate to get out of that shitshow with a point, despite those bumpkins being terrible as well. We’ve somehow contrived to weaken our team in the transfer window and are no closer to having the likes of Nesbitt, McHugh and Cadden all playing well in the same setup. Then we change things and turn into a completely shapeless rabble.

McGinty is a Stuart McCluskey Mark. II figure who will spread panic across the back line on a regular basis; Rogers also had a bizarre case of the Ramsbottoms all day long.

It’s a poor result that could’ve been a lot worse but the main concern for me is that we’ve gone backwards again after a spell looking like a half decent team.

Where you at the last couple games. We are stronger than we where before window, still not good enough but stronger still.McGinty is a vast improvement on what we had. Millar is still extremely poor and shouldnt be anywhere need first team. Last 2 games Orsi had decent games and should feel bewildered to be left out today. And contradict yourself by saying we are worse now than before window.

Conditions did have an impact on the game today , we should have won as QOS were gash, poor penalty for Bob

forever optimistic

Erm no - we’re quite clearly worse than we were before the transfer window: our best performance in recent months was the second half at home to Dunfermline, which just so happened to be before we then shipped out two vaguely competent centre backs as well as all our full back cover in exchange for a handful of ringers who - other than McGinty - will be lucky to make six starts between them for the rest of the season.

The idea that McGinty is in any way an improvement - never mind a ‘vast’ one as you claim - on our precious centre back options is ludicrous nonsense and should be filed in the bin by anyone who has actually watched how he effortlessly shipped goals over the last two games. Why on earth do you think that Partick - the worst football team in the division - were so glad to get shot of him in the first place?

But given that you also reckon Orsi had to start today despite contributing precisely nothing last week it’s clear that we’re not actually dealing with a serious review of players’ abilities as opposed to just sentimental, birthday caird pish.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

When the window opened our centre back options were Baird, Grant, Welsh and McLean, although Welsh was rarely used there. Now our options are Baird, McGinty & McLean.

The worst of the four we had in McLean has moved up the pecking order while we’ve added McGinty, who is a downgrade on the two who left. Grant wasn’t good enough for this division, but the only player McGinty could be argued to be a vast improvement on is Henk van Schaik.

He was better than Baird yesterday, but insofar as the game could be called entertaining, it was down to two defences that were so incompetent it was funny and seemed to be doing everything in their power to let the other team score. McGinty’s complete lack of positional sense was significant to our disorganisation, and his teammates clearly see this themselves - everyone around him panics when the ball goes anywhere near him.

He dealt well with crosses being fired into the box and got his head on lots of them (a welcome change on last week where his failure to make similar simple clearances gave Dundee a missed sitter and their goal in the first 10 minutes) but he was all over the place whenever the ball was at an attacker’s feet. The one where he charged out of position for a 20/80 chance of winning it inside their half then carried on running towards their goal as the QoS player crossed the halfway line was particularly funny.

The rest of our defensive business in January saw us improve at right back in having Tumilty instead of Welsh, but go from having one out of depth cover option at full back to having no cover at all there because we terminated Livingstone’s loan deal to allow us to bring someone else in then contrived not to sign anyone. The consequence of which was having no alternative at left back today when Strapp went off, so we ended up with an attacking midfielder at left back who had no idea what he was doing and sold a goal.

The defence was already the weakest part of the team, it now has poorer starters and less depth. It was a failure of a window.

From the look of the tontastic photos, Nesbitt’s goal didn’t cross the line.
