Judging by the opinion over on mortonunofficial, am I the only one that thinks this is a half decent idea? I know that play-offs are a difficult thing to juggle, especially in leagues of 10, but at least they provide excitement right up to the final weeks of the season. Imagine if Peterhead (who finished miles ahead of 3rd place) had been outsted by Cowdenbeath because of a two-legged game? AT McGhee needs some support, there's no-one backing him up. Hayes playing it forward, Bell being forced to do it all alone, now forward from Marr, here's Ritchie, still Andy Ritchie, look at the control... That is a marvellous goal from Andy Ritchie. Twenty minutes on the clock and Morton's supporters come alive. A goal which epitomises the control, the arrogance, the cheek of Andy Ritchie. If you think the SPL's bad, wait until the current batch of muppets are finished ruining the SFL. Play-offs are a great idea in theory, but this is a terrible implementation. I understand that the current system need reforms, but it should begin with making bigger leagues (2x18 seems right to me in the SFL - incidentally, I disagree with the notion that Scotland has too many senior teams) THEN altering the promotion and relegation spots.
