MORTON v Queen Of The South Sat 14 Dec

Now for the two games that will see us enjoy Christmas or hope our good ladies don't splash out and get us hospitality for a run to the seaside leagues.

I am not Mr Rae but the team needs backing even if Hopkin does not.

Even though it was Tuesday night near Christmas the home support was a low as I have seen in 50 years.

We all know Nesbitt and Cadden must start.

Welsh cann't play RWB but must be part of a central three.

While VT thinks we will only be able to go forward if the other team wish to pick us off Millar can't start we need mobility in the central defensive area. So its go forward but guard against breakaways.

Dobbie is their main goal threat and seems to be playing while not fully fit so we must stop him getting opertunities to show how forwards should finish. I don't expect him to sprint on a breakaway to score.

This is a must win game followed by our first point a least at Alloa let's do it.

Perhaps if the team could try blocking routine shots from the edge of the penalty box instead of passing the buck to each other every single week than they'd actually merit 'backing' - as it stands though, they're as much a part of the problem as either the management team or the rudderless boardroom regime.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

I will watch this game with the perpetual dread that Peter Grant is going to fresh air a vital clearance again.

When I was young I never watched Morton teams and thought I could play at that level; nowadays I'm not so sure I couldn't have done a better job than some of our squad.  The standard really is appalling.  It's quite depressing and I don't think it's ever going to get much better.

Regarding Saturday's game, my neighbour told me this morning that Queens are really shite too this season, so it will probably be comedy rather than drama.  Think Colin Stewart against Ross County levels of hilarity.

"Any nation given the opportunity to regain its national sovereignty and which then rejects it is so far beneath contempt that it is hard to put words to it."

Perhaps if the groundsman spent more time managing routine weather conditions and less time wailing about professional sportsmen having the temerity to use his precious show lawn then we wouldn’t have had a third Saturday home match postponed for total nonsense reasons in the space of nine months.
