As the old industry adage goes, people don't drink lager, they drink advertising. That's why. The same reason Dos Equis here in the US went from a niche brand to a top three Mexican import, largely off the strength of the (admittedly excellent) Most Interesting Man in the World ads.

There are quite a few sectors where pricing doesn't reflect material cost that much, and beverages are one of them.

The patrons of the Cafe Continental must consume swimming pools of the stuff each year.

Tickets for our fixture against St Johnstone go on sale on Wednesday 3 July, with supporters asked to purchase in advance where possible in order to avoid excessive queues at the ticket office on a matchday.

Nothing quite sums up the stupidity of our turnstile set-up like warning against excessive queues for a pre-season friendly that'll be lucky to get a 4 figure attendance.

£12 is probably a bit steep for a friendly but £20 to watch two games in a few days doesn't bother me in the slightest.

Good people will do good things, bad people will do bad things, but only with religion do good people do bad things!

Good to know that 'briefs' for that all-important St. Johnstone clash are available at a variety of local outlets, because contrary to the official site, you can't buy them online:

edit: this is separate from the fact that the login page for gmfctickets is on http - that is, not https, so non-encrypted. Here is why, even if the transmission is https (and I'm not sure if it is), that's not enough to keep it secure:

When I logged in after getting my card last season, I was shown my Dad's details on my account on a friends and family thing. I actually meant to email the club about it but forgot about it as I had no need to visit the site again, but that kind of thing is extremely shoddy, at very best and it appears it's still as bad now.
