According to Companies House, David McCluskey has resigned as chair of MCT. I wonder if the MCT board will ever get around to telling the membership about this.

Good chance that Ross Millen signs for next season. He can play right back or centre back.

Whoever agreed to play the Ayr game on Tuesday should be sacked. It was obvious that the Dundee Utd game was probably going to be played in the Friday, so to schedule the Ayr game for Tuesday was negligent. The players looked tired tonight. They’ve hardly trained this week because of the three matches. Someone should be held to account. Beyond that, the team selection was wrong, we lacked a plan B, and we showed (again) a total lack of discipline. Changes are needed in the summer.

Two climb downs in 24 hours - first the dinner is reduced from £99 plus VAT to £99 including VAT, and now changed from black tie to formal. Add that to the “unforeseen circumstances” for delaying the AGM and things don’t appear to be going too well at Cappielow. Does nobody check things before they go public?

This is a crossroads for MCT. McLennan, Ritchie and Farmer were the leaders of the move to community ownership, and they have all stepped down for different reasons. Will the next generation have the drive and ability to keep the club going? Early indications aren’t good. The club statement says that the MCT Articles require a majority of MCT reps on the Morton board. They don’t say that. That’s not a good start. There is a requirement for MCT reps to have served two years on the MCT board before being eligible for the Morton board. Harkins has never served on the MCT board. MCT boasted about transparency and democracy when it started. Are the members to be consulted about Harkins being appointed, or is this a stitch up by the two boards who are showing contempt for the members?
