Squad and transfers 2019/20

That moment when you use that to try to belittle the current debate but only succeed in strengthening it.

No, using points like different shorts belittle the bigger picture that the club don't have any sense of PR.

People seem to get overly angry about wee things that don't really matter and happen at clubs all over the world and jump on them but it takes away from any good argument that the club are poor at that side of things.

Nope, they add to the bitter picture enhancing how big an issue it is.

There's 2 issues. The communications and pr but also the image and levels of how tin pot we are.

The kit debate falls into both categories therefore it is valid.

Throwing it in as a snide remark though, most certainly tries to deflect and belittle the debate.

Grow up.

What a totally buckled mess you are right now.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

It literally highlights the point further. We're a farce.

TIME FOR CHANGE!

Nah, it's not.

Lack of updates, no joined up marketing strategy, poor video content, limited social media presence are no push for season tickets are all very valid points.

Shouting about kits not matching at pre-season trips is just diminishing arguments against what is actually wrong.

I don't think you know what the word 'diminishing' means tbh, as that does not actually make a coherent point. At least we now have a handy, cut out and keep guide as to what the flunkeys consider valid topics for debate/criticism/mockery on the forum though:

FAIR GAME - first team squad; marketing; commercial; bus seats in the dugout etc.

BANG OUT OF ORDER - their own beloved, yet totally useless pet projects

It doesn't though. It's something that happens at pretty much every club around the world during pre season. Moaning about thinhs like that just takes away from some very valid complaints.

Examples please if its every club around the world (and no, the swing and a miss Celtic example you tried was not one).

Except that a few months ago you were more than happy to write off Waddell for being 'very inconsistent' and/or for displaying 'a tendency to hide' regardless of whether JJ was still in a job or not. There were no such caveats to your judgment then and nothing else has changed.

What we are seeing here then is a straightforward case of revisionism because i) you haven't seen a dung player slice a ball into his own net for a few weeks and/or ii) buy into the now alarmingly common belief of 'Hoppy' as God's gift to coaching who is likely to transform a total carthorse into the next Franco Baresi.

I didn't mention Waddell specifically, I listed which players I'd like to keep and admittedly said the rest were either inconsistent or had a tendency to hide. I stand by that, but Waddell wasn't in my thinking for whatever reason, not sure if he was out injured or I just forgot about him, though I certainly wouldn't label him a hider. I would obviously far prefer the likes of Lamie or a fit Kilday or Gunning, but I don't think they're options at the moment are they?

Obviously no one has taken on the Jonathan Mitchell role since he left.

I’d imagine it’ll be Brendan taking over Jonathan’s role on top of his own role as Assistant Club Secretary. Probably using Jonathan’s templates, doubling his workload and for no extra reward.

A shame for the boy, who, considering it’s not a role he has any expertise in, did his best in covering Jonathan’s absence a few months ago.

The club only really have themselves to blame for Jonathan’s departure- they weren’t committed enough to their output and saw the role as an unnecessary outlay, with him putting his hand into his own pocket for equipment that really should’ve been provided for him, and recording interviews off his mobile phone, resulting in poor quality for which he was criticised, although his hands were tied behind his back.

It’s little wonder he had had enough and went onto pastures new. I suspect Brendan will also feel the pressure once the fans start to see the content isn’t of the quality of Jonathan’s, through no fault of his own. The one thing in Brendan’s favour could be that he’s working under Dave McKinnon, and not that cunt Hawke. It’s a full time role though, not one for a young unqualified lad who’s in there to do some filing.

I’d imagine the club are quite relieved to get someone off the wage bill now Jonathan’s gone- what they should really be doing is asking themselves why the turnover of their non-footballing staff is so high. It has to point to poor pay and/or working conditions.

As long’s a couple of quid has been saved it’s all good though.
