If thats what the skunks class as football then the reprobates are in for a long season,it was not a great game but who cares it was a great night ,we parked behind the tip and all the hillbillys were behind the bedsheets oh sorry curtains.We done what was needed full marks jim mc allister for a great shift,the jury is still out on templeman but we will give him this season to see if he has whats needed to cut it at the level we want to go to, he has skill just a shame he is short of pace but not to worry we will be therE at the end of the season.as i mentioned yesterday about rats leaving a sinking ship.....all the minks backing the team and leaving a well beaten team .a great day out well happy,and remember all the sunks out there A BATH IS FOR LIFE NOT JUST FOR XMAS..........HAHA

Makes you wonder what the 1st division is really like. Clearly not entertaining if the Midden finish second and thats how they play!

Thoguht they lacked creativity in midfield and the wee no.10 (Baird) got bounced about off Greacen. THey looked threatenin when the ball got beyond our defencders because both strikers had pace but rarely did the ball get over our back 3 Greacen, Harding and WEatherson.

There was no creativity from the midden whatsoever,but let's not take anything away from them,afterall they are in the 1st division and were not.

i know, and the signing of Grady, if it goes through, will be a good one, but they would have no chance if they played the long ball to him.

i think if they sign Grady they will win a very poor first division next season.Maybe we are better than we think and didn't let them play their own game.It's one thing saying there s***e but maybe we should give our team some praise for not giving them a sniff.

Can't comment on the style of play as I was not there, but our first choice XI would have Potter (who did not play_ and Kirk (who played in midfield for some reason) playing at the back.

 

Up front we are clearly lacking at the moment as we only have one striker on the books,

 

Gus will sign two more strikers and a midfielder before our league kick-off on 6th August.

 

I expect we will be there or therebouts this season and although disappointed to lose yesterday it really won't matter if we get off to a good start in the league campaign.

certainly lacking up front, although played some nice passing in the middle third of the park. No creativity and didn't make enough chances.

 

Don't think Gus Mcpherson is exactly Mr. Football Personality but runs a tight ship and if what Div says is true with regards to bringing in more players then they might win it. Wouldn't put money on them based on yesterday though.

St Mirren had to play the long ball game because they were outclassed in midfield and could not play the ball through that area. Against poorer teams like, for example, Stranraer, Clyde, QoS, Ross County, Hamilton and Airdrie, they will not have the same problem and will be able to play better.

Teams that are all a division above us on merit, lets not get too big headed here. The past two seasons have clearly demonstrated that we are perhaps not in such a false position after all & after one wee friendly victory over the midden and we're talking as if we're in the SPL.
