Ross County vs Morton

Feel a wee bit sorry for JJ. IMO we're still suffering from the snake's sabotage of the squad and we'll just need to limp through to January and hope for some major upheaval.

But scorelines like today and the Ayr game are not acceptable in any circumstances and we need to stop conceding.

Partick have just had a big chunk of cash thrown at them from Celtic's Champions League payout. I expect them to improve in the second half of the season along with Falkirk.

A pumping away to County isn't a disaster in and of itself - you could tell even in the first game that they were a good side who hadn't yet got going.

The time for excuses for JJ is up though - the squad we have is more than capable of competing at this level. We've had results of a Brechin-level shitshow recently and it's not down to a lack of ability.

The squad is not good enough and JJ is tactically naïve.

It’s good enough for midtable - unless and until Johnstone is fit, that’s clearly its limit though. And that’s where we find ourselves, quite comfortably on both sides, in the table right now. It’s not actually a disastrous position.

The next three games will tell us whether we’re on a downward trajectory or not. I still suspect that we’ll carry on as the table suggests but there’s nothing to suggest that we’ve won a watch with this pick of a manager either.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

I reckon we will get beat on Tuesday night, draw with Partick then beat Alloa. If we don't take a minimum of 4 points from our next three games then the board will need to start asking some serious questions of the management team.

One thing that needs to stop is this f***ing selection committee at the side of the park. We look like a f***ing amateur team. Get the Reserves manager and assistant manager up in the stand, where they belong on match days.

You address me by my proper title, you little bollocks!

Erm no that’s utter bollocks. We’ve picked up six points in six games; Brechin picked up just four in an entire season.

The correct comparison to apply at the moment is with James Grady’s gormless tenure rather than such utter and obviously false nonsense.

Season is done as far as promotion is concerned. Sad. Another season down the drain. We've got fans over 30 now who've never seen us in the top flight. Doesn't seem any danger of that changing anytime soon.

Fortunately Falkirk, Partick and Dunfermline seen more hapless than us. County, United, Ayr and Inverness are likely to finish an absolute mile ahead of the bottom 6. And Alloa will be bottom two all season. As long as we keep picking up home points we should be fine for avoiding relegation. Best we can hope for is winning that bottom half mini table and reassessing things at the end of the season.

There's a 0% chance JJ gets sacked anytime soon, seems a bit pointless even discussing that tbh

Agreed. We've an assistant in there, no need for the rest.

League form:

3 wins

4 draws

3 lost

Overall it doesn't look disastrous so I'm not too despondent, but today needs to be a big boot up the arse for the team/management because if they don't pull their finger out we could easily be dragged into the relegation dogfight.

One thing we should all take into account that Partick Thistle and Falkirk are both spawny bastard outfits who things always seem to fall into place for them, so theyre likely to have a lucky spell and bypass us at some point.

You love this don't you?

It’s just too bad that his big mate ‘Hoppy’ is currently making JJ look like Arrigo Sacchi in his much sought after ‘big job’ in a Yorkshire bin.

I think teams just write off games against Ross County. It’s too far on a bus and you’re up too early.

Ross county need to do the same travel for the reverse games. Don’t see them writing off away days.

Hoping we’re going to limp through to the transfer window and then see what JJ can do, hopefully keeping us in touching distance of the playoffs we want to be in amongst. I know the jury is definetly out but he’s been unfortunate that he hasn’t had a window to bring in his own players.

As for the same old usual pish from Clydeview. Enough, you know fuck all.

Yeah, JJ has to go. He has no clue what he's doing. McKinnon, regardless of his snake like features, would have this team competing for promotion. Jonatan is taking us into relegation contention. He talks a great game, but he hasn't had 1 good performance out of the players yet. We've morton'd it again.

I want a pretentious signature too.

It's not as if JJ is picking crazy lineups that we're all scratching our heads at. Manager's and their instructions absolutely make a difference, but I find it hard to believe that he's suddenly turned them into a team which is incompetent defensively and blunt in attack. He probably just doesn't know how to cover up their deficiencies.

The way I see it, and I've said it a few times now, we deserved to be hammered in the opening League game against QotS. We couldn't have complained about being 3-0 down at half time in that one. We dug one out at Alloa and then beat Ross County with a couple of brilliant strikes. I'm not sure it was all as positive as the 7 points suggested.

I think one of the big issues now is that JJ hasn't got a handle on how to cover for our weaknesses, which imo stem from a complete and utter lack of defensive organisation. JJ certainly has to take a portion of the blame, but it's really quite simple things that's letting us down. Our defence has coped well with any level of pressure this season. JJ either needs to work a miracle with the players, or find 2 or 3 defensive signings in January.

Nope, don't remotely love being correct about how poor our squad was. I wish we were sitting top of the league and playing entertaining football... I'd love that.

Sorry, anyone that got excited over the signings of Denny Johnstone, Chris Millar and Jim McAlister in the summer, really knows very little about football. We also let Andy Murdoch go, a far more useful player to have in the squad... stupidity.
