Your Morton 6-a-side Team

Recommended Posts

A traditional 'we have nothing new to talk about' type topic. It's simple, name the best six a side team with Morton players you've seen play in the flesh.

Gaston

Gunning

Tidser Jenkins Imrie

Peaso

You address me by my proper title, you little bollocks!

Given that the nature of 5-a-side or 6-a-side teams are players not in any particular formation, I'd go with this one:

My thoughts exactly. No room for a traditional centre half in my team. Attack-minded defenders only. Weatherson and Iredale spring to mind but I'm not committing my team at this stage.

A classsic 5s/6s error. It’s all about the team that defends best.

Since Morton were Scottish 5 a Sides Champions in 1968 and 1969, those players should be considered for a place in the 6 a side team. I can’t find it online but I’m sure I remember Gerry Sweeney was Captain and Joe Mason played. From players I saw including those 2 my 6 would be:

Leif Neilson

Neil Orr, Jim Holmes

Gerry Sweeney, Andy Ritchie

Joe Mason
