Morton vs. Dunfermline - 1st December 2018

The budget was increased this year and we broke out season ticket sales as we were sold the second chapter of the Rae’s quest for the top.

The level of performance is worse than Duffy’s tenure and has taken us back.

We should not be accepting f second best or looking at where we were last year. Last year was a failure and this season is heading that way.

The fans responded to the worn out cry for support and once again they are being let down.

JJ is showing nothing to suggest he is cut out to

Be a manager.

I think most can see the inevitable sacking coming and regardless of his contract duration I think we need to take action sooner rather than later as something is far wrong with the tactics, game plan and instructions set to the players as it’s like watching a bunch of trialists who have been out the game for 6month and never played

Together.

I so very much hope there are some release clauses in his contract!

Just to be clear, my point was very much about despite it looking really bad this season it doesn't mean it was a bad decision to sack Duffy, because that didn't set a very high bar last season.

Why is it that posters always blame the manager? Bottom line is that Duffy did not deserve the sack...we followed that by hiring an arsehole who put together a very average squad many of whom are either injury prone or finished or simply not good enough to start with. Johansson has been left with a mess of a squad and all of you blame him entirely. We will inevitably end up in a relegation battle this season unless we can pick up around 5 or 6 players in January who are a significant upgrade on the current shambles. Ultimately we will probably regret sacking Duffy which was a very predictable scenario at the start of the season.

If Duffy is as good as you think he is then why did he fail to get any of the Championship jobs that he applied for and washed up at Dumbarton like a seaside league dinosaur? Why did several other boards share the view of this club and fanbase that he would never take them to a higher level than this one and why are they all wrong? Be extremely specific.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

Why did Duffy get the Morton job when there was an abundance of Full Time positions during his spells as a part time manager?

Duffy most likely over achieved. Doubt he was appointed to win League 1 and then steer us to the Premiership.

The success in his third season likely came as a shock and having fallen from such a high to 7th it was inevitable he would be on his way.

However, JJ not producing anything to suggest he is a better gaffer than the Bald Eagle.

We have conceded 24 goals in the league and only scored 18.  It's the 24 against that is shocking; the 18 for is accounted for partly by the fact that we do not have a credible strike force, Bob the builder's occasional efforts notwithstanding.  We have a striker who has been injured since he got here (apart from a brief cameo appearance) and now we have Oliver out for 8 weeks.  I have no idea how many other injuries we have but there seem to be a lot of them.  The squad is a shambles.  i don't think you can blame JJ because he has to work with the shite that he has inherited - basically everyone apart from Gaston, Waddell, Tidser and Millar, and on occasions Mcallister although i'm not sure what his role is actually meant to be and I have no real idea if he justifies his selection.

I fail to see how we can rebuild in January.  How do we get rid of players who are on 1 year contracts?  i don't think we are actually heading for relegation (yet) but we're clearly not going to go up either.  We have a completely average set of results (5-5-5 W-L-D) so on occasions we must be doing something right, but when we lose, we lose heavily and when we win we usually win narrowly.  I think we just need to write this season off as a waste of time and plan for next season.  Whether JJ is the answer I really don't know although listening to his interviews he comes across as a bit wishy washy.  It's an interesting change from the usual merry-go-round of mediocrities, but the jury is still very much out.  Meanwhile Andy Murdoch, deemed not good enough for us by McKinnon, is sitting at the top of the league.  Infuriating.  Morton should be doing so much better than this.

"Any nation given the opportunity to regain its national sovereignty and which then rejects it is so far beneath contempt that it is hard to put words to it."

I am still quietly confident on Jonatan Johannsens ability to turn it around. Granted things haven't been great and our defence badly needs overhauled in the transfer window but I reckon he should be given till the end of the season.

I'm keen to know what Peter Houston, an experienced SPL and Championship manager, is actually bringing to the table. Is he our Assistant Manager in name only?

Wonder who had the final say on signing Denny, total waste of a wage.

This is a good point as we have had three former players return and I would question if there was someone in the background other than the manager dealing with signings. Jim said Hawke spoke to him several tiimes at functions about a return and this was before McKinnon.

Duffy had the American Thomson in for a look but McKinnon signs him and then we have the Oz Boy McKinnon was looking at but JJ has him in.

Maybe something over nothing but it does beg the question is Hawke or someone else at the club involved in identifying or bringing players to the club.

Either way, the season has already lost its feel good and the fans did their part with the record season tickets and bought into the three year plan.

I have great concerns over the future under JJ and if he brings in some woeful signings it could be A long winter period.

It's also important to remember that the snake McKinnon had Zak Rudden lined up to come to us on a loan deal and then took him instead to Falkirk hours before the transfer window closed leaving us no chance to find an alternative.

Heard that we made an arse of contract offers by not submitting to sfa. So no comp due. Shocking if true.

If that were true the chief execs head should roll.

Peter Weatherson is the greatest player since Ritchie, and should be assigned 'chairman for life'

Players will get put into touch with managers in all sorts of ways including ex players being introduced by officials still at clubs. I wouldn't be overly concerned.

In Johnstones case, he's got a decent reputation and clearly has ability so most managers in our league would jump at the chance to take him.

Iron Man has overseen a parade of shambolic failures in his spell as chief executive. That we’re tied to JJ until the end of next season is a truly inexplicable error - the club should be able to replace a novice manager ASAP and at minimal cost if things are going badly.

He should be first out the door and leave it ajar for others to follow.

We also said that we released quitongo. However, no exploration of why, what we would be entitled to etc.

I can only imagine we have fucked it up

And didn’t get the level of compensation expected and got £200 and a bag of mars bars.
