I'm not one for being sentimental in choosing managers. I see having a connection, an affinity or whatever you want to call it with Morton as irrelevant. Of course Dougie is gone now, but with managerial appointments in his tenure he often valued a past connection with Morton. Peter Cormack, Allan Moore and Jim Duffy were all brought in having a prior connection and there have been countless members of the backroom staff as well.

We don't know if without Dougie the board will adopt the same logic and try to look for a similar manager, but if they do we can rest easy in the knowledge that a former Morton player is out there doing an excellent job. It's still early days in his management career, he's still young, but all the signs are that he's going to make a great manager. He already has a league title to his name. He has a win ratio of 80%. He is unbeaten.

Rajamaki/Lindberg to apply and get a certain generation of fans excited but to get nowhere near the gig.

Some idiots to tout Andy Ritchie and their opinions to forever be resigned to the sea.

Ian McCall to be touted as a favourite.

Aiken to also be lazily linked.

The guy who didn’t want the Hearts job because he thought they were too small a team for him?

Really? Never knew that.

Not as if he is a flush with offers.

Working well for him these big teams...

Jim McIntyre would be a good appointment. Knows the league well.

No he wouldn't - he left Queen of the South as a failure; why you'd expect him to do much better at a club with similar resources is baffling.

There is only one candidate who does not know the meaning of the term 'league defeat' as he currently romps through the Swedish leagues. One who would literally walk on the surface of the North Sea to manage The Famous.

This is Wake's time, and woe betide a board that passes up on that brief opportunity to appoint some proven mediocrity from Scottish football's managerial merrygoround instead.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are
