Right, but I think rating a player as being more professional than one of the worst squads in the club's history isn't really a proper benchmark.

Badge kissing on a one year deal doesn't really wash with me.

As VT suggested, prove yourself first. Badge kiss chest lump after tackle on the touchline that was your's to win second.

There's a difference between badge kissing and being passionate and wanting to win.

Winning a tackle and encouraging the crowd when we were under pressure at that stage is a good things and that type of attitude is good to have in the squad.

Didn't see enough of him to know if he'll be a decent addition right enough.

I'm only saying that was the impression I got and I dont see anything wrong with it.

Yeah he has to prove himself as a player aswell as I hope he does even if his history would suggest that it's a bit of lost cause and if he is that then (questions would then need to be asked of hopkin) if he at least tries his hardest when on the pitch you cant ask for much more.

Im making perfect sense, your just not keeping up.

Over the three games I was at (Dumbarton, Annan and today), it is clear we will be a danger to anyone in the league going forward. Nesbitt in particular is a wee pest that will be irritating defences all season long.

We definitely need to strengthen the defense though, albeit I don't know how much of their issues are down to the goalkeeper. Ramsbottom is hopelessly out of his depth and needs to be replaced if we are to do anything this season.

He waltzed onto the pitch and within the first ten minutes of his career felt it was time to demand crowd backing to his desired level off the back of winning one fucking tackle in The Famous’ jersey. Let him stick to doing his talking on the football pitch for some time to come, instead of treating the crowd like some gormless American cheerleaders for a defensive collapse.

I’ve seen enough encouraging signs about the attitude of this squad so far but that birthday caird pish certainly wasn’t one of them.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

We look like the 2003-04 side - likely to cause problems up front but equally likely to chuck them in at the other end. Today was very like the Arbroath cup game at the start of that season, without the late winner.

I thought our penalty was soft - the way the referee had set his stall out I expected him to pull the card out for simulation. Our 3rd goal was a beauty - great cross too.

Was their 2nd goal deflected? Looked a howler from the Cowshed but I had no idea of the path of the ball (nor apparently, did Ramsbottom). The disallowed goal looked ok, unless the player who sent it back across goal was initially offside or something.

McGhee needs some support, there's no-one backing him up.
Hayes playing it forward, Bell being forced to do it all alone, now forward from Marr, here's Ritchie, still Andy Ritchie, look at the control...

That is a marvellous goal from Andy Ritchie. Twenty minutes on the clock and Morton's supporters come alive. A goal which epitomises the control, the arrogance, the cheek of Andy Ritchie.

Yes we can - we can ask for better quality from the players that we employ and pay wages for. Last time I checked this is still a professional football club we’re watching here and not a glorified social club. And somehow I doubt your special pleading would last long if Ramsbottom continues to make earnest, trying really hard errors like for the third goal today.

The bottom line here is that the way we’re playing is better than before, but the team lacks both quality and squad depth to turn that into dependable results. That was equally apparent during today’s game and before we signed two players yesterday, who on any basis of judgment haven’t changed that fact at all.

Nesbitt was a risk given a couple of unsuccessful stints after leaving us but has been the gem of this summer’s business. He’s tearing teams up like he did to the tribute act at Ibrox on a regular basis so far, and it’s great to watch.

Far better than the once in every dozen games performance we’d get from that sand-dancer Oliver.

There were lots of positives today but that goalkeeper is a bomb scare, he isn't catching anything and his parries are all falling around the six yard box so teams will quickly work that out and look to pounce as queens did twice today. On the two new signings, van Shiek looks dodgy but what I saw of Blues I liked, he seemed strong and willing to put himself about would need to see more of both before condemning either

From my view, Strapp was flattened - definitely a penalty,

And yes, their second was a deflection

Let's rock !

Yeah Strapp was fouled twice. He rode the first one outside the box well and then just let Kilday do what he does and stick a lazy leg out to send him down. Well rid there btw.

Peter Weatherson is the greatest player since Ritchie, and should be assigned 'chairman for life'

Any highlights?

Need to wait for QoS to upload theirs.
